Undergraduate / Personal circumstances (that would be useful for us to consider your application) [5]

Well, the idea of your essay is good, but there are a lot of grammatical errors. "the latest technology while I could hardly keep up with the essential things that could keep me alive.".... I think it would be wise to either reword this, or to omit it. Also, I've told this to someone else. If you are in the top ten percent, you will get in, no matter how crummy your gpa is. If you are not in the top ten percent, and you are applying to get in as a freshman straight out of high school- most states will permit you to get in probationally. Now, If you are a hs graduate, and would like to enter into a university as a freshman, without going in probationally, I recommend getting a job during the fall- and applying for the Spring semester as a first year student, and not a transfer student. Transfer students are harder to get into universities, but they will likely accept you as a first year student during their Spring semester, because the competition is not there (Most HS students apply for the Fall session). Anyways, as for the essay, no matter how crappy or good it is, usually the admissions don't even look at it, unless you ask for an interview. In this case, it may hurt you if your interview sucks. I know a Law student that applied for to U T Lawschool, with a LSAT of 170 something, and a GPA of 3.8 in Business MIS, and he got rejected, because he did such a crappy job at the interview. If you are at least in the top 10 percent, just submit your essay as is, and it won't make a difference to your admission. You'll get in.

Essays / Admission as a transfer student in the field of electrical engineering - start? [3]

I would avoid answering "personal circumstance that affected performance, may wish to address that situation in their essay", and staiy focused on being positive throughout your essay. Usually if you are a transfer student, your application gets trashed if you don't meet their min. gpa for the transferring credits that you have. The only way to go around this is by applying during the Spring semester, when all the high school students are not applying. It's always best to apply when your competition does not exist. As for the essay, I don't even think they read it... (I was a prior friend to the admissions personnel), and what he told me was that they just look at your GPA and any extracurricular activities you've done in your resume. I would think you would want to focus more on your resume, to the point if they were to glance at it, they would want you.

Research Papers / (HR Auditing / Management Policies) advice on my HRM Research Paper topic [6]

Hello all,

I have to have a research topic, and I narrowed it down to HR Auditing. I did some reading, and obviously it seems like there is a lot of material on the positive side of HR Auditing, but I couldn't find a book or article that was about the negative impact of HR Auditing. Is there anyone who can recommend a book, or is this topic just not worth it in your opinion? My other topic was perhaps on the workplace improvements after an organizational change.... but that seemed way too broad- and a bit boring... I really wanted focus on HR Auditing. Perhaps if none can be answered, maybe a new direction I should head on with HR Auditing?
