Undergraduate / "a small city named Homes" essay, need suggestions [2]
Growing up in a small city named Homes, I found myself finishing the high school and then forced to enter one and only university in one major that match my grades. But now finally I found my self in completely new world. I found the ear that listens to my ideas, the eye that sees and observes my abilities, and the mouth that always advises and encourage me. I really found the real guide who put my feet back on the right path.
After I finished the high school and obtained my degree, I found myself in front of what I thought that is the place of ingenuity. Perhaps I was one of the few people who where obligated to go to the college that accidentally suited their desideratum. So I wasn't very upset or disappointed like many others. Thence I began the journey. The first stop was the first lecture I've ever attended. The professor opened the door and went inside. He put his suitcase on the table, took a chalk and began to write the equations. I finally discovered that most of the teachers do the same. Problems started facing me. I felt myself alone in the college. When I had questions, ideas, suggestions or problems I rarely found person who listened to me. In the college, teachers, lecturers also professors know how to force their ways to the lecture and ignore all questions. I never saw anyone who began his first lecture with introducing himself to us, asking about our names or trying to discover why we like this branch or why we chose this program of study. No one took our views of this lecture or asking for some ideas about that course.
That is all makes me deprived of "understanding, appreciation and respect." So I came to this country. I found in Lehigh University what I am looking for. I spent four years in my college learning to become civil engineer but not socialite. I believe that those three bases in Lehigh's mission are of great importance that allow students in the future to take their own right decisions and engaged in solving global problems. Lehigh, by seeking "understanding, appreciation and respect." prepares her student to become active, successful members in their families, job environment, groups, and the nation as well. It finally reflects on the reputation of The United States of America as it the first and best nation in the world.
I consider myself after coming to U.S.A as a new person. I am not only convinced that Lehigh will give me the high quality education I am looking for but also that I can be an active and positive influence on Lehigh's environment and achieve her mission.
