Motivation letter

Dear sir/madam

My name is ***. I am twenty years old and I was born in Porto, a big city in North of Portugal. Although I am from Portugal, my parents are chinese.

I was educated as bilingual and biculture child. On one hand, my parents gave me the education and the influences according to China's lifestyle. On the other hand, portuguese school taught me the European culture. I am fluent in both languages because I have to speak them at home and at school. In addition to this, my English skills are also good, which makes me acquainted with various cultures.

My family has a restaurant, in which I am used to help since I was sixteen years old. I know how enjoyable is working in hospitality industry. I can meet new people and I feel good when customers are satisfied and value my job.

Travelling has been a passion through my life. Discovering new countries and learning about new cultures makes me think in a different way. So working in hospitality industry will be suitable for me.

As everybody knows the tourism industry is growing fast all around world and to be successful in this competitive and dynamic industry, it is very important to get a good education, so I decided to study at SHMS in Switzerland, which is a very well rated school. Switzerland is the birthplace of hospitality and Swiss hospitality education is the most qualified. I visited SHMS Caux campus on October and when I saw the school, I was amazed. The school looks like a palace, situated on the mountain , that provides a fabulous view. The environment of SHMS is great, there are students from everywhere over the world and being in touch with so many cultures everyday is something that I have never imagined.

I believe that the high education offered at SHMS will show me the way of success.

Study plan

As I said on motivation letter, I decided to start my education at SHMS because it is a worldwide reference in hospitality education.
I have chosen the BA degree course, which will take me three years to achieve.
This course is as theoretical and practical, including four academic terms and two internships, that allows students to not only acquire the necessary knowledge and skills, but also gain some work experience. Furthermore, I hope to live the international experience that SHMS provides.

The successful completion of my studies at SHMS and the solid educational background will help me find a good job in hospitality industry.
