Undergraduate / Chemistry & Nervous Systems; Coumbia/ Neuroscience or chemistry? [3]

Studying organic chemistry in the pre high school class was always an excitement. Before entering into high school, I perceived that Chemistry would be my favourite subject. When we started work on preparation of chemicals, I immediately realised that this aspect of science made a clear distinction between memorising and understanding. I could easily understand what was been thought and my interest gradually developed into an insatiable appetite for lab work. Consequently, I decided to help the lab assistants to set up the lab for practical at all times. Soon I could do everything without any help. As a science student, I had to give an equal time to each subject but I always devoted a special time to Chemistry because it was the only subject that I could understand well without having to memorise a handful of definitions. Through all these experiences, I developed a keen interest for research and this became visible in the Biology class. During a class on Nervous Systems, I was enthralled by how the brain works and the coordination that takes place to enable impulses to be sent and received. Though I have not had any platform to research on the activity of the brain, I would like to cease the opportunity to know more about this vital organ of the body.

Undergraduate / I co-founded & run my Sixth Form's debating society/ Extracurricular Activity [3]

The vibrancy of discussion with your peers in an open setting, where questions are asked which are not bound by any curriculum , is, ironically, not part of any curriculum, and so being able to found a debating society was a huge benefit to the Sixth Form community.

Quite good but you can also give examples of what debates you had. Also this sentence needs to be improved since it is quite awkward.

Undergraduate / Cool Running ; Columbia sup [2]

In the book Cool Running , I observed that each person has a personal calling (something we desire much) and as we pursue that calling, we will come across the good and bad forces. Yet, in all these, if our tenacity overcomes our fears, we will be able to attain our purpose in life. As Santiago, the main character in the book, set out to find his personal legend, he had to work in a crystal shop for a year and nearly spent the rest of his life in the oasis (far from the pyramids where his treasure was). Yet in all these, he did not give up and consequently, the universe conspired with him to enable him find his treasure. It is the same with the human world. There would always be those who will encourage you and those who will try very hard to discourage you. Yet when we decide to remain focused we are always able to accomplish your goals.
