Undergraduate / Affairs of UN member countries - Vanderbilt extracurricular essay! Model UN experiences [2]

I am happy with the essay but it think it is ok...not excited about it. thoughtsss?

Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences (Recommended length: 250 words)
Many of my decisions throughout high school have been based on a question I asked myself on my first day of freshman year, "How will I make my high school experience unique?" I kept this question in mind when I founded Model United Nations. Outside from the classroom, I am able to forge an environment where students from every grade and cultural background are afforded a platform to create a voice for themselves on issues concerning the affairs of UN member countries. For the past three years, I have led a dedicated and enthused group of individuals in their exploration of world issues. For hours into the evening, we present, share, and debate the same issues that UN delegates and world leaders confront on a daily basis. If you walked into any one of our meetings you would witness us fervently (and vocally) exchanging positions on the global financial crisis and expeditiously researching why the gross domestic product of the world's poorest countries is gradually decaying. This is how we have fun. With every brazen debate follows the unrivaled gratification when you win a mock debate with the position paper you and your teammate drudged over for the past month. I would have never imagined that our MUN team would be headed to state conferences. As president, I am indisputably honored that I am given the opportunity to sponsor the awareness of young adults on current events that we will all likely face once leaving high school.

Essays / Help choosing my topic - UChicago supplement [3]

It is hard to say since I haven't read either but it is always better to be safe than sorry.
Maybe choose the one that flows best and is the most well written.

Undergraduate / My personal discovery of historical misconceptions and hidden history [4]

I love the idea behind this. My only suggestion is that you make the essay more clear at the beginning. I did not really know until I got to the end of the essay what the overrall "so what?" was. Other than that, your style is exceptionally fluid!

Undergraduate / personal ego - Yale Supplement Short Answer [9]

My idea was that people are blinded by their "ego" which more generally just means they are set in their ways and unwilling to even consider change. The unwillingness for change is the root of all challenges that society faces (i.e. racism persisting because people are resistant to accepting people that are different from themselves)

Undergraduate / Chemistry, calculus, English - Vanderbilt Supplement Essay [3]

Hi! I have been overwhelmed by the amount of "extracurricular activity" essays I have had to write recently so I am lacking inspiration. I wrote this essay yesterday and I am not sure if it says enough about myself and leadership (it REALLLY has to portray leadership qualities that I have)

Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences (Recommended length: 250 words)
Through the honor societies that I am involved in, I have been given the privilege of working with peers through my high school. I have gotten to tutor numerous students weekly that have honestly taught me more than I could ever relay to them. Chemistry, calculus, and English are just some of many of the subjects I have been able to help students with; however, I have taken real appreciation in my tutoring of one student name Cole. Cole is a freshman and I have only recently gotten the opportunity to work with him and yet he has caused me so much introspection. Cole contemplates and feels like any average fourteen year old yet he cannot express his thoughts clearly and fluidly. Even as a freshman, he struggles to read and write with the ease that most students take for granted. Thus, as I have worked with him on reading and writing skills I have truly explored the meaning of expression. On a daily basis, he has to learn new ways to express himself clearly to other people. Through weekly sessions after school, I have been able to learn Cole's language, the ways and idiosyncrasies in which he expresses his thoughts and feelings. I have connected with him through words, pictures, and sounds. Through him, I have honestly learned not to take for granted the seemingly trivial yet crucial blessings that each and every person beholds. This is a recognition that I hope to really impress upon people in the future.

Undergraduate / Boulder Enterance Essay 1- Big moment/ achievement in life [2]

My responsibilities at the summer camp taught me responsibility and dedication along with building on my leadership ability as I advanced in the summer camp's organization.

this is kind of repetitive. I would suggest simply rewording.

Undergraduate / personal ego - Yale Supplement Short Answer [9]

Hi! So I know this is just one of the short supplement questions;however, at this point I am being a little fastidious with all aspects of my application. So, I would sincerely appreciate any feedback. Don't be hesitant to be critical!! (my problems concerning my answer at this point is that it may be too general and not really address a specific issue i.e. carbon outputs or racism)

What is the most significant challenge that society faces today? (50 word limit.)
At its most basic level, many of the world's perils concern the individual. It is the failure of many individuals to overlook their personal ego, which encompasses the values and opinions one holds, for the sake and benefit of a greater population that severely hinder the progress of our society.
