I am student of Civil Engineering in xxx. I learned about building, material of building, dam, water, and transportation system. In my college I ever did many research. My first research is about planning of rural areas, then light SCC concrete. In the second research I mixed concrete with rubber. The rubber has elastic character that can add the strength of concrete.

My undergraduate thesis was concerned in Foundation design. I made comparison between bored pile and pile foundation then choosed which one was more appropriate for chimney building in Bxxx, East xx. I made comparison in some aspects-strength, construction cost, and settlement. To find the final decission, it is important to do soil identification. Then, bearing capacity of soil has to be counted. Soil bearing capacity will show how much the external strength will be needed by the building. This external strength will be suplied by foundation.

The result shows that bored pile is much cheaper than pile foundation, but bored pile has lower strength than pile foundation. The prediction of settelement of bored pile is higher than pile foundation.

Eventhough from quality aspects-strength and settlement, pile foundation is better than bored pile, bored pile stiil be the choosen. This is because of limitation of cost project

I was the founder and leader in xx Engineering Association student in XX University. This association is similar with study club for xx Engineering Student, xx University. This study club was found to break a rigidity research improvement in xx Engineering Association

Bassically, I and my friends had high expectation to do more for our department by this study club. This study Club had responsibility to help every single student that want to join competition in regional or national area. Also, this study club must helped student to understand some difficult assignments. Blessing in Disguise, at the start of this community was found, most all student in xx Engineering was pessimist that this community would work as its function. no body was interested to involve in starting first research.

Based on that condition, I started my programs with doing research by myself in designing area for village improvement in Engineer national company. This research followed by microhydro research conducted by my friends.Each of us use our research to start the community program and involving national competition

Fortunately, our research was one of the big five research. This competition result helped us to get the trust from students in xx Engineering Department. Some lecturers and student agree to run this program until now.

Our community has conducted 4 research and won 3 competitions from 2009 until 2010. in a year we co-operated with alumni in improving research for some competitions and study methods for students. In the last 2010 I resigned, the community kept ran by new students.

Indonesia is one of ring of fire areas. In these areas seismic earthquake happens more frequently than other parts in the world. Consequently, the more damage occurs in these areas. In developing country, like Indonesia, awareness in perventing and reducing the risk of earthquake are still far away from enough. Although there are some research that are improved to explore the analyses and prevention from earthquake, the low income of families in this country forces them to face this natural disaster without standard prevention. This causes millions people dead and billion rupiahs lost. This condition needs an effective solution. The solution that is offered in this research is Portland cement replacement with used brick. Recent Portland cement that is used in most housing in Indonesia is not appropriate for housing construction and expensive. The strength of Portland cement is higher than brick, this will cause the bricks shrink then forces those to restraint. This will increase the number of cracks on the wall so that the house will not able to withstand seismic waves. In this research recycling used brick to be cement is to produce cement that has lower price and save for housing construction.
