Writing Feedback / Independent TOEFL essay , Judging people on their appereance [2]

Hi guys
please rate my essay, any feed back is highly appreciated

essay prompt
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? One should never judge a person by external appearances. Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

Essay

Many people tend to judge other people base on the external characteristics regardless of other aspects of personality. I completely disagree with this kind of judgement. My attitude is built upon two main reasons.

First,Judging a person on his external appearance is starkly unfair as appearance alone is not enough to build a complete idea of one's personality and thoughts. Moreover, in appearance based judgement we neglect persons's background and situations that led to his current looks, so we judge a person based on an wrong and incomplete image that we build based on only one characteristic of him, his looks. On example of this is when I was on a college trip last year when I and my colleagues saw a man with one eye and lots of scars in his face, many of my colleagues said that he is a dangerous quarrelsome whom we should avoid. I reached out to him, had a quick chat with him, and I found out that this man is a war hero who defended our country and the loss of his eye and the scars on his face were a result of heroic actions and my colleagues previous judgement was so wrong and unfair.

Secondly, judging people on their can have devastating social impacts as it may cause us to miss new friendship opportunities. While a person might have an appearance that is different from ours or an appearance that we find strange and not understood, we may share that same ideas, the same ways of thinking but we lose the opportunity of having a relationship with a person of such similarity with us because of our judgement on him. When I was in high school, we had a strange hipster-looking guy in our class, the look that seemed very odd in our social environment. I remember my self avoiding him for three or four weeks and thinking that being a friend wit this guy will not be any good to me.Later, I ran into him during our computer class and I was amazed that he shares me the passion in computers. we sat for two hours talking about computer and didn't even feel the time

passing. Now this man is my work colleague and my best friend, a relation ship that I almost missed because of an appearance based judgement.

To sum up, I find judging people on their appearance is both harmful to other people as we treat them cruelly and unfairly, and to our selves as we prohibit ourselves form some life changing experiencing.

Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would you prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

the Article

Continuous technological and economical development in modern world created great differences between cities, a difference that is clearly visible in the size of various cities. From cities with more that 20 million people to small towns inhabited by only hundreds of people. This diversities in cities allowed for more difference in people's preferences for where to live. For me, I prefer to live in bigger cities that in small ones, this personal attitude is the result of many factors.

First of all,I find the excitement of big cities to be attractive, living in a dynamic environment can turn into a very rich experience that sharpens one's personality and open one's eyes on the real world. Life in big cities cities gives one new challenges every day, let it be deciding which restaurant to go to or deciding which company to work for. For me, this lifestyles is very attractive and is considered a huge advantage of big cities compared with the constant, slow paced life styles of small towns

Another thing that put big cities in front of small towns is the facilitates and services it contains which support and improve the quality of its inhabitants' lives, hospitals , advanced medical facilities can satisfy one's need of medical safety. Cultural events such as exhibitions and theatre plays can enrich one's and widen his horizons, things which aren't offered by small towns.

Furthermore, It's undeniable that the economic power of a country is driven by it's big cities and the majority of wealth and finance is centred and controlled in big cities. with this kind of power big cities offer more opportunities for one's career advancements and a more chances of higher income that small towns does, and higher income can be the basis of a happier, healthier life.

Finally , although I prefer to live in a big city , I can not help but assure that this is a matter of personal taste, to be clear, I would love to spend some days in countryside to recharge my soul and relieve myself from daily stress.
