Essays / Essay for Silence of the Lambs (the movie), gender roles [2]
I'm not sure if you guys watched the movie the Silence of the Lambs. If you have, please help me out with this essay.
We have mostly been discussing gender roles and topics such as feminism and sexism.
The prompt is
Does the conflict between Clarice's "empathy" and Crawford's rationalism actually suggest that the film ultimately reinforces existing gender stereotypes?
Here is what I came up with so far. What I basically need is help with constructing a thesis and making sure if I'm on the right track with my outline.
I. Begin by explaining background of the movie
A. Talk about major topics in the film
1. Sexism
2. Heterosexism
3. Feminism
II. Explain characters and how they are affected by some of these topics
A. Clarice
1. Working in an environment with men
2. Include important details
a. Meeting with Crawford
b. Dismissing the men when diagnosing the body
c. Uses her instinct to try to solve the crime
B. Crawford
1. Tries to be very masculine
2. Include important details
a. Dismisses Clarice when they are with all the other agents
