Hello!

I write from Italy and I have to send a cover letter to applying to UN's YPP. Could you please revise this letter?

I would appreciate any help! Thank you Andrea.

I have recently completed a five-year curriculum, obtaining an equivalent of a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the XXXXX, with final grade 000/110.
I began this university course after having worked for about three years as a computer programmer in the information technology office of the Italian branch of an European multinational. This change was a natural choice for me, without any second thought, since the human science area was the only matching my characteristics and needs for a personal and work growth.

At the end of my university studies, I served a six months internship in Vocational, Traineeship and Work Placement Office of the XXXX (where I worked side by side with a vocational psychologist) and another six months internship in an Italian public psychiatric center for patients affected by mental illnesses (where I worked side by side with psychologists and psychiatrists).

- As a graduated in Clinical Psychology I master the instruments that helps to read the reality (analysis capacity of the data; reading of the relational dynamics in a social context) and to plan interventions based on the needs of individuals and organizations;

- I own the capacity of plan and conduct a research, capacity achieved during the university years and especially during the writing of my thesis that was based on an empirical research made in the archive of the former XXXX's asylum;

- During my internships I learned how to write a interview report based only on factual data;
- During the internship at the Vocational Office I had the chance to develop and conduct a round of meetings with high school students; I also led by myself a lot of interviews with students looking for a right university choice;

- I gained experience in the field of disability having worked with children with disabilities in schools also as in summer camps, also -as a tutor au pair- with young adults with disabilities enrolled in university;

- As a former worker of a multinational I was used to work as a part of a team as also work by myself; I was used to do goal oriented work;

- I am very able with word processor software and main computer software of common use;

Finally I hope that you will take my application into consideration because I consider the experience at UN of great importance to my career and for my personal growth too. Being part of this organization will be for me a continuing source of positive resources in front of possible problems I could face. I am ready to put myself to the test, and I'm eager to learn learn more and more and I hope to do that in your organization.

Respectfully yours,
Andrea

Hello, what about this version of the final part of letter?

I am curious about everything: I am always asking questions and I find all subjects and topics fascinating. I like read books on various topics (psychology, history, epistemology, and so on ). I am devoted to work and I put passion in everything I do. I am aware I'll have to work hard to ride over every difficulties I could face, because like every person I have weakness, such as introversion (under some circumstances I sometimes have some difficulties beginning new relationships), a certain quota of perfectionism (I sometimes spend too much time on a project looking for the perfect thing, but perfection is not of this world). But I am ready to put myself to the test.

Indeed being part of this organization will be a continuing source of motivations, because I am ready to take the opportunity to contribute to help people and communities to solve problems that challenge them with my capacities and strengths and with the knowledge I learned during my formal and informal studies (among other things, I am a not professional musician and I usually play different stringed instruments and at this moment I play some of these as a volunteer in a music-therapy group).

Finally I hope that you will take my application into consideration because I consider the experience at UN of great importance to my career and for my personal growth too.
