Hi everyone! I need your input in sentence structure, vocabulary and grammar. European Commission offering a traineeship programme where they asked to write 1000 characters on the following question.

Motivation letter for European Commission Traineeship programme

Tell us why you are applying for a traineeship at the European Commission, what your expectations are and why you think that you are a good candidate. *

I am non-EU citizen and pursing my master in Italy and just three months away from degree. During my studies, I participated in many research activities and met people from every European country. My academic journey including one year research mobility in another European country gave me immense learning which I didn't expect before joining this program. I am truly inspired how well European countries are managing the quality of education and research at the same level. Traineeship at EC ensures excellent career opportunities and also one of the best opportunities to understand the mechanism and role of EC in European institutes particularly in research. My strong sense of commitment, learning attitude and prior experience in multicultural teams make my candidacy valid for the traineeship.

Looking forward to your feedback and constructive comments.

Hassan, you need to directly respond to the prompt that you were provided. You only have 100 characters with which to convince the reviewer of your qualifications and skills in relation to the requirements of the EC. Your essay wastes the first half of the response character allotment in terms of this aspect. I strongly suggest that you revise the essay and focus instead on developing the following quote as the stronger basis of your desire for an EC traineeship slot:

Traineeship at EC ensures excellent career opportunities...make my candidacy valid for the traineeship.

If you develop on the implied ideas and beliefs in located in those 2 sentences, you will be able to better address the requirements of the essay. Specifically the expectations and candidate portions. Those two portions are really under developed to the point of being non-existent in your current essay version.

@Holt

Thank you for providing me valuable feedback. I come up the following after reading your suggestion.

A combination of research master degree in management and experience of working with youth parliament of Pakistan motivated me to understand social issues and role of institutions. However, participation in different committees of Model United Nations (in India, Sweden and Netherlands) with different roles helped me to understand the global issues and institutional functioning. Traineeship at EC provides an excellent opportunity to extend my knowledge about European institutional functioning and role of policy and research in tackling social problem. I expect traineeship at EC would be an amazing learning experience to work in multicultural environment with an opportunity to widen my vision and social network.
