APPLICATION FOR internship at CERN
Hey I'm applying for an internship at CERN in Electrical/Electronics field and can you guys help me out and let me know if there's anything to add or change in this, fyi I'm new here so please do help me out and I'll appreciate it and be grateful for it.
I am one of those grateful and lucky people who have witnessed the Geminid Meteor Shower. It was mid-dawn when I decided to go back home but I just wanted to look up for one more time and there it was which is an incredible thing. Till this day, it reminds me to always aim higher and don't give up even at the very last second. I come from a country where it is filled with pollution and the air pollution contributes about 2 million deaths every year. According to recent studies, industrial pollution accounts for 51% of air pollution, while vehicles account for 27%, waste burning accounts for 17%, and fireworks account for 5%. It saddens me that the majority of people are unaware of these issues and their consequences. I aspire to make a significant positive difference or be a part of making my own country an environmentally friendly and carbon-free environment.
From being grown as kid to an adult, I noticed how modern technology has revolutionized our world and daily lives. We are now building and focusing more on global Sustainability Development as it shows promising results that helps create a better path forward for reducing
scarcity and improving the lives of people everywhere. These innovative ideas have piqued my interest and spurred my want to learn more about them at a higher level. I graduated with Bachelor of Engineering degree with Electrical and Electronics as my major from XXX College of Engineering, India which provided me with a solid foundation for understanding various fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and instilled in me a strong desire to learn about a wide range of subjects and their significance.
To broaden my understanding in Electrical and Electronics, I attended a workshop on the basics of Embedded Systems using Arduino where I practiced hands-on project examples using program coding and their outcomes. This propelled my interest to participate and helped me to present in a training programme on Finite Element Analysis for Electric Motors and Vehicles. In 2019, I got the opportunity to participate in National Solar Vehicle Challenge where me and my team stood third and, we were the winner of Auto-cross event and also awarded for the best team spirit award. In 2020, I participated in Saur Urja Vehicle Challenge which was conducted by Refrangible Society of Technophile Engineers (RSTE) which is a Non-Government organization where we placed second and also the winner of Auto-cross event. This benefitted for my final year project "Design and Fabrication of Prototype Hybrid Powertrain For Electric Vehicle". It was a affordable prototype electric featuring simple yet effective wiring circuit design where both EB cable unit and Solar can be used to charge or energize the Lithium ion battery.
The knowledge I procured during my four years of engineering helped me figure out my interests and future ambitions, and these competition exposures helped me figure out what I'm enthusiastic about. This is why I decided to pursue higher studies. My long-term objective for graduate studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is to prepare myself for a profession and a role in global Sustainable Transportation and Zero Carbon Emission Energy Systems. In my pursuit of knowledge, I have always adapted a methodical approach to garnering a thorough understanding of the subject at hand. This is reflected in my record, where I have participated in an International Conference (ICPERES 2021) on paper publication (yet to be published this November) specializing in Power Electronics and Renewable Energy Systems by XXX Institute of Technology and Science, India, while maintaining a first-class of X.XX CGPA.
I describe myself to be a conventional and forward thinking person with an optimistic outlook. My objective to work as an intern at your Technical Studentship 2021 is to avail the advantage of securing the best of knowledge, faculty, infrastructure, and environment possible. Internship at your prestigious research centre would furthermore, due to the internationality would provide an insight to nationalities and diverse cultures throughout the world. Switzerland is one of the developed country with an open heart and world class educational system, where Science and Technology are a way to achieve social progress where improving human life is very important. All these factors coupled together make an ideal choice to do my internship and reach new heights. Interning at CERN would be a significant step toward achieving my career goals. I possess the intelligence, commitment, and tenacity necessary to accomplish my goals. I am confident that exceptional knowledge and impeccable leadership, allowing me to continue to grow as a person and a professional.
I am eagerly looking forward to be a part of your Technical Studentship community. If I am given the opportunity to intern at your esteemed research organization, I would be grateful. I am committed to uphold the norms of your Technical Studentship programme and to be a deserving student.
Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to express myself and taking time to go through my application.
Sincerely,
XXXXX
