Here is my research paper for the impact on sunscreen.
I have done the first three paragraphs that need to be checked the organization and the grammar.
The sunscreen can protect human skin from sunlight but what it does after it goes into the ocean? People love summer. The most popular resorts are always associated with sunshine and beaches, such as Miami and Hawaii. Therefore, people have to fight against with fierce ultraviolets. After the long-time basking in the sun, people's skin will have to suffer the pain of sunburn that is hurt, itch and inflamed. For that, people react by wearing hats, long-sleeved shirts and sunscreen. Afterward, the point turns to sunscreen which is called the double-edges sword by National Park Service because sunscreen is not only harmful to human health but also to the environment. According to the article "Tests reveal potentially toxic titanium dioxide in sunscreen and cosmetics" by Lisa Matthes, sunscreen is linked with skin cancer because it contain with ingredients, such as titanium dioxide. The issues of sunscreen come up in recent years. Scientists start to question the safety of the sunscreen and they do find a lot of problems of the sunscreen. Thus, people should avoid the use of sunscreen because the ingredients of sunscreen are hazardous to both humans and natural surroundings.
Admittedly, the sunscreen plays an essential role in against the ultraviolets. Even so, its ingredients cause the coastal pollution. According to the article "Protect Yourself, Protect The Reef!" by National Park Service, coral reefs provide habitats for million species of fishes and algae that also provides foods and energy for coral reefs. It shows the importance of coral reefs for the aquatic lives. However, the coral reefs have been persecuted by sunscreen for years. According to National Geographic News "Swimmers' Sunscreen Killing Off Coral" by Ker Than, more than four thousands tons of sunscreen flow into the oceans every year. The news also points out that a small amount of sunscreen can wake up the algae virus in the coral reefs. Once the algae virus wakes up, the corals start to banish the algae that used to live in coral reefs. Eventually, the corals loss their colors and turn to white. The process of turning white is called "bleach". After bleaching, the corals will be in a bad condition and almost die. For that, the algae and fishes will have to change their habitats. As a result, the sunscreen is decreasing the diversity of coral reefs, so people should watch out for the uses of sunscreen.
Sunscreen is also polluting the rivers and lacks that contain various species. After taking showers, the wastewater goes into sewers and then goes into the nearby rivers or lacks. The chemical substances will follow the wastewater to everywhere in the world. In the article "Staying Green in the Sun" by Nina Rastogi, she mentions that the studies in Switzerland found two chemical ingredients that are spread in cosmetic products are inside the body of fishes. That means the toxins of sunscreen have polluted the environment and species. When the wastewater goes into the rivers or lacks, the fishes will also be affected because they are surrounded by toxins. The toxic foods and water will be eaten by the fishes which people might consume also. It is like a circle. People use the toxic sunscreen and wash it up to the environment, then the fishes eat the toxins, and people consume the fishes that have been polluted. The toxins still go back in human bodies. Hence, human and the environment is connected so humans will suffer what the environment suffers.
