Why did you choose your proposed course and institution?
Public policy is always fascinating to criticize and discuss in everywhere. This topic has been discussed in all circles; from parents to teenagers and from offices to traditional markets. These dynamics make public policy as a big issue to pay attention to. However, the eager to learn public policy also departed from the confusion of Aceh government system in making policy. In some cases, many public policies in Aceh can easily create and replace without in-depth research and analysis. The unwillingness government to do that has resulted in many unsolved crucial problems in Aceh; poverty, education, health and unemployment rate. Based on the personal analysis, several public policies have been made following the existing rules and regulations but still unsolved the problems. It is caused due to inadequate monitoring and evaluation of every implementing policy in the regions. These problems attract my attention to deepen my knowledge about public policy that will assist my career in my current working NGO. After conducting in-depth research in the master of public policy, I found the courses that suit my scientific needs at Melbourne University and Monash University. Both campuses offer the subjects that I need to elevate my knowledge; how public policy are designed, implemented, monitored, and evaluated to solve existing problems. Besides, both universities have opportunities to take an executive internship in an organization that deals with government. I strongly believe that these institutions can provide me with a global understanding and offer me the best possible solutions to fill the gaps.
