Chevening essay on Leadership

Chevening is looking for individuals who have a clear post-study career plan. Please outline your immediate plans upon returning home and your longer term career goals. You may wish to consider how these relate to what the UK government is doing in your country.

On my immediate return to my home country I want to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and get to know about how foreign relations are managed. I also want to dive into diplomacy.I will get to work with people from all over the world, coming across different mind-sets and ideas.I believe I can achieve a lot in term of knowledge, learning and acquaintance with foreign cultures.I also believe that working in such a ministry is definitely challenging as one needs to produce work at high level because your job represents and protects your country's interest. One has a big responsibility. And I know that after having completed my post graduation I will be ready to take upon such responsibility.

I want to climb up the ladder and simultaneously imbibe and hone my skills at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and one day lead the country as the first female Foreign Secretary of Nepal with one of the aim being, improving the economic development to move ahead and achieve the global goals.

I would also like to take upon a research topic on an issue existing in my home country, which I will decide after my Post graduation and go on to do a PHD.

One topic essay at one time, please

@barkha gupta please outline how you will climb up the ladder and the timeline of this. Also show the impact of your career. The essay is too generic and doesn't show the specific way you will make an impact. Give a little more detail

Barka, this is an ineffective Post Study Plan essay. You are indicating that you want to work at the Ministry of Foreign affairs, however you do not indicate that the work you hope to do there will be part of a current career progression. Are you changing careers? If you are, then you need to indicate that in this essay. You also lack a proper presentation of a long term career plan that involves proper career advancement steps and other possible work experiences you hope to experience. Most importantly, you are not indicating a clear UK relationship between your career plans and the UK projects in your country.

This essay sounds more like you did not even bother to read the actual prompt requirements nor really give any serious thought to how you see your career developing in the future. This is not and will never be a competitive essay in terms of Chevening requirements. You will need to review the sample post study plan essays at this forum so that you can get a clearer understanding of what this essay requires in terms of information, specifically about the UK presence in your line of work.

Chevening essay on Leadership

Leadership to me is the ability to understand and empower others to the betterment of themselves.
Ever since I was elected as an office bearer (2015-2016) for the English Literary Society in college, I used my organizing and management skills to arrange successful programmes and events and to leave my fellow batch mates and the English Literary society pleased and influenced with my work. Moreover, as a Trainer in Call Mobility Pvt.Ltd which is the sole National distributor of Huawei, I had the ability to influence and mould my company workers from entire Nepal. I call that moment as the 'ice breaker' moment of my life because I not only had left the trainees and staff motivated but I got an amazing compliment from my boss who patting me said, "We are proud to have you here". I remember Mr.Roshan, the Marketing Head, coming up to me and saying, "You left me totally surprised. Never did I imagine you would turn the training camp so effective and fun. Way to go!" I improved the sale effectiveness, office livelihood and team work through leading training sessions in the effective sales, team building and leadership sector. My greatest accomplishment as a Trainer is helping the Head of Sales, Mr Deepak (who personally asked me to help him get rid of stage fear), face his fear of standing on the stage and is now successfully helping his sales team. Furthermore as a teacher at AksharVidya Mandir, I definitely left my students as well as the teachers influenced with my work. Not only did I just teach but I was even selected as a Captain to lead a specific team of students and teachers. My team won 3 different inter team competitions thrice in a row. It was immensely a group work and as the captain of my team, I left no stones unturned to keep them motivated and excited for every competition. This position surely made me stand out from my fellow colleagues in the school.

Likewise while volunteering with Raleigh International, I was an active speaker in the communities where I led the village on WASH topics like, menstrual hygiene and 7 steps of Hand Wash. Lastly, as a facilitator I organized 2 days training session on "Advancing Adolescents Health, Participation and Well-Being" in my municipality (Janakpur) for the frontline workers which was supported by Yuwalya and UNICEF. The feedback left me overwhelmed especially the one by the mayor, Mr.Lal Kishor Sah, who said to me, "Young people like you leave adults and other youth influenced by the development work you do for the municipality". This clearly signifies that my leadership and influence will be effective and beneficial to the institution that I aspire to become part of such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Call Mobility Pvt.Ltd,

Hello, the essay does not explain about leadership. Take the example of Call Mobility Pvt.Ltd, and explain what actions it took for employees to see you as a leader, how they influenced you to change your posture, what results happened with that change, measure, and use your boss with support on the good work of leadership you have accomplished. I hope it helped you
