Non commmunicable diseases(NcDs) are the leading cause of death and disability worldwide. According to WHO ,"NCDs kill 41 million people each year, equivalent to 74% of all deaths globally". In Botswana NCDs account for 46% deaths (CGTN,2022).Despite this indication of a health crisis, Botswana still lacks comprehensive data on Ncds, effective policies and interventions and has inadequate integration of NCD management in healthcare affecting the ability of its health system to tackle them more especially in rural areas. To resolve these gaps robust research and effective policies and interventions need to the done. It is for this reason that I want to pursue an Mph in Epidemiology to find solutions.My proposed study relates to the CSC Development Theme of strengthening health systems and capacity as it focuses on disease prevention and control while contributing to resilient health systems. Through modules like epidemiology methods and global health policy and research I will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to conduct research ,translate data and inform policies and interventions in Botswana, improving health outcomes and ultimately strengthening the health system and capacity.

While I admire that you wish to help Botswana as your home country. The focus of your response should not only be based on the national considerations of its CSC theme. There is also a need for you to discuss how you might be able to influence the global, national, and local concerns regarding non communicable diseases. That is the weakest point in your presentation. The discussion is very weak because of a proper solution development plan, relating to the 3 sectors, within your presentation. Even your localized proposal is too general in reference. You need to give more consideration to the 2nd question in the prompt and how you can make it better apply to the 3 sectors referred to in the 1st question.

Consider briefly mentioning the socioeconomic factors that contribute to this crisis globally, such as urbanization, lifestyle changes, and access to healthcare. Your focus on disease prevention and control is crucial. You might expand on how improving data collection and integration into health systems can lead to better resource allocation and targeted interventions. Emphasize the potential long-term benefits of your research. For instance, improving health outcomes could lead to a more productive population, reduced healthcare costs, and enhanced quality of life.
