Describe your academic interests and how you plan to pursue them at USC. Please feel free to address your first- and second-choice major selections.
My academic interests have always revolved around the sciences. My interests have influenced me to take classes like AP Biology and AP Physics in order to have a better understanding of the subjects I hope to pursue in college. This interest has evolved into my pursuit to go into the medical field to become a dermatologist. I plan to pursue my interest in pre-medicine by majoring in Human Biology or Neuroscience at USC. The human body has always amazed me from a young age; the human body has learned to withstand mass amounts of damage and fight pathogens as it has evolved. However, the anatomy and the cognitive processes of the brain have also caught my attention; the brain, the most impressive part of the body, has evolved into structure that has helped us survive for thousands of years. Furthermore, I plan to continue volunteering at Kaiser Permanente and "shadow" a doctor in order to be better prepared for medical school.
