I close my eyes and see blue skies and luxuriant trees. I see sunlight and a sense of vitality surrounding me. I see happiness, intelligence, and the desire to learn. I see kindness, benevolence and the willpower to reach great lengths. I feel invigorated knowing that everywhere I turn there are students just like me: eager to learn and enthusiastic to see what the future holds. This description entails an illustration of what I foresee at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. What draws me to this university is its intense academic program, world-class education, volunteer opportunities, a variety of research programs and much more. Academics is not what just makes a university superior to others, but a well-rounded curriculum, extracurricular activities, and a staff that bolster the inner qualities of a student. Just looking at the number and variety of academic programs University of Wisconsin-Madison offers makes me feel giddy and charged with pure excitement. A program I would undoubtedly take advantage of is the Department of Medicine. From a young age I have found myself extremely interested in the study of life and all things surrounding it. Bio-medical sciences and the many diverse areas of it has always been my first passion. I keenly remember the first time I held my Elmo stethoscope and listened to my grandfather's heartbeat over and over again, mesmerized by the internal sounds coming out of his body. I have always been high involved in extracurricular activities and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison I will surely participate in is Greek Life, the Associated Students of Madison, and a variety of intramural sports. Just daydreaming of all the opportunities the University of Wisconsin-Madison makes me eager and thrilled and as Walt Disney says, "if you can dream it, you can do it."
