Re: GPPA Statement

The question "What do you want to become in life" always strikes as an eye opener for many young adults fresh out of high school. Ever since I was five years old, I knew I wanted to become a doctor. The specifics of the exact doctor I desired to become were not exactly known, but the desire to become a doctor has never changed since I was asked this question as a youth. I've always had a desire to help people.

The study of human anatomy and physiology combined has always been intriguing to me. The way the mind works and the results of it working and controlling the bodies every movement. What drives me in the direction of the health profession are my humanitarian beliefs.

I believe that I would make an ideal candidate to the GPPA because I am motivated to become a great doctor helping children that are ill to feel better, I have a driven spirit to work hard and participate in the program and take in all the knowledge and experience I can. I have chosen this path rather than the traditional path because there is a great responsibility to remain accountable and to stay on track at all times. I understand there are a lot of challenges in my career field, but I am up for the challenge I will work hard to be the very best student and doctor I can be.

A seat in the GPPA program for me would contribute to my future goals to enter the Medical field and to be all that I can be as a Critical Care Pediatrician. UIC was my first choice of schools to pursue a medical career. It would be a great contribution to my goals in fulfilling my desire to study in the exact environment of my chosen career path and provide the stability of knowing UIC is the place I can call home for my entire academic career.

My drive and admiration come from knowing there is a bigger purpose for my life and that I am here to be a helper of people.
