I know its a stupid question, but its been eating me up inside.
Does financial aid count on the excellence of one's essays???
depends on unis
some merit-based are solely focused on your gpa, sat etc
i don' think theres a financial aid just for solid essays but essays probably would be more for the holistic judgement of you

thanks. that was a relief to know
and if its need-based then only your financial situation matters
doesn't mean essays are not important though, most unis consider it of important or very important. They help you get in the uni first before you can worry about financial aid

If you have an AWESOME, MUST HAVE essay, you could get financial aid out of the essay. I probably would not count on it. Your background, grades, test scores, etc. will count toward financial aid. The most important aspect of these essays is entrance to the college. After you are accepted, the FA office will generally do whatever they can to get you financed because they need you to go to their school.... In my experience, FA offices at private colleges are MUCH more helpful than public colleges.
Are you looking for more FA?

yeah I am, and that's why I am applying to private colleges only.
To add to the consensus -- no, your essays don't really affect your chances of getting financial aid. An awful lot of aid is purely needs based, and the rest tends to be tied to your overall academic performance.
