Georgia Tech's motto is: "Progress and Service." What does that mean to you? max.150 words
In my dictionary, I define progress as the betterment of the human condition for society as a whole. Change, positive change, can only truly be called progress when it is combined with service, when it is allowed to help change the lives of more than a select few.
I truly embraced service to my community throughout high school and will continue to do so in Georgia Tech. My experiences as a tennis coach for disabled children will hopefully make me a useful addition to the Club Assistance Program of Georgia Tech's MOVE organization.
Engineers without Borders allows me to embrace service in an entirely new way. It allows me to finally convert the education I receive in the classroom into meaningful change, progress, that will transform people's lives.
While Georgia Tech gives me the chance to change myself for the better, it also allows me to change the world.
