The Count Of Monte Cristo Thesis And Examples (the quest for revenge)

Here is my thesis:

In the quest for revenge, the hero often becomes something of a villain.

Now, I'm using how Dantès terrified Danglars and robbed him of his fortune in exchange for his life, how he drove Villefort to insanity by exposing his affair and his attempt to kill Benedetto, and how Fernand killed himself after Mercedes and their son left him.

Now these are the broad overviews of the three revenges extracted. Is there any suggestions you can offer me as to other more specific examples? Ones that fall under these three branches would be great.

Thanks!

Hello Ina,

Your examples are good already. I don't remember enough about the story to suggest any others. BUT I think your thesis needs work. It is not "arguable."

Google this: arguable thesis

Try to add detail to the thesis. Make it more unique, more niche.
Do you know what I mean by "niche?" Make that thesis statement longer by adding some detail... so that it says something even MORE specific and nuanced about revenge turning a hero into a villain. Get sharp and specific.
