Questions about Roman Fever (Edith Wharton)

Hello

My English Literature essay is due next week and I have no idea on how to start my essay. I hate thinking about the first paragraph.

This is my question given by my teacher: Discuss the symbolic meaning of Roman Fever, Grace's knitting, the ancient ruins, afternoon light, and evening darkness. How do they all contribute to the story development?

It would mean so much to me if someone would help me.

Thanks

Always do the introduction after you have the body paragraphs written! Write a paragraph about each of these; Roman Fever, Grace's knitting, the ancient ruins, afternoon light, and evening darkness. Google the word 'symbolism', with the title of the book. After you are armed with all this information, your intro will practically write itself!
