my proposed guide of Ph.d has asked me to look for articles , journals and search for the topic of my interest for ph.d on the following corporate governance, corporate social responsibilty , business ethics or global financial issues ..but i fail to understand how will i be able to do dat widout actually knowing the research gap ... wat excatly do i hav to do .. if anyone can help me solve dis issue of hpw to find the research gap ?
I'm not sure if you have very much flexibility in changing your topic, but how about doing your dissertation on a nursing related issue. This is when you jump into the conversation. A conversation is taking place among scholars. They write articles and dissertations about the issues of the greatest importance in a field.
So... what is an issue of importance pertaining to corp. social responsibility? How about a specific way to improve public relations through responsible practices? That is just an example.
What you need to do is read 5 or 10 recent articles about a particular concept. See what people are saying. That is the only way to jump into the conversation.
Dissertations usually have a literature review, because the writer needs to show that the MESSAGE of the dissertation is relevant to the conversation that is taking place now in the field.

I am writing my research paper on effect of csr on business performance . Can any one suggest me possible research questions. The obvious question will be what is the effect of csr on the business of the organization? What other questions can be used?
Well, I am not a business or a management guy. But these are the few questions I get to my head :D
How csr can help building brand image of a company?
How would those csr efforts affect the employees of the organization?
It's significance on the development of its particular industry
What could be the Financial gains and losses?
