PhD reseach topic (can be from the domain of Software Engineering, HCI, Semantic Web)

Hi,

I have done my Master's from university of Manchester and want to apply for splite-site PhD but I am finding difficulty in finding a PhD research topic .. My preferred domain area is software engineering could you please help me find a research topic which doesn't include coding as I want to work on something that develop's a new or modified development technique/ architecture... in my msc thesis i worked on agile development ... looking forward for your reply. Thanks

Well, it's hard for you to find a topic in the filed of software engineering without coding. However, if you don't like it you can try to invent some new algorithms to solve some hot issues...But to test your algorithm you still need to code alitle bit anyways :)

it is much difficult to select a topic.in all the topic coding is involved.you can chose the whom you interested.

I'd suggest one of the hot topics in Software Engineering, think about "Lean Software Development". Another topic that would be interesting is "Requirements tracking".
