Hello
I have an essay the requires me to critically consider the implications of attachment theory in social work practice. There is a case study we need to consider also and apply our findings to this (the case study is a refugee family who have experienced loss and where the children are showing signs of insecure attachment) I need to consider an argument to guide my essay and at first considered the notion "Bowlby considers attachment theory to be universal, does attachment theory consider cultural differences insociety?" however having looked at a few books I dont know whether there will be enough "meat on the bones" to structure an evidence based argument - it pretty much states categorisation of attachment are universal but which are used will depend on the cultural context. I then considered whether I should look at "Nature vs Nurture - Attachment theory indicates sensitive parenting is key to forming secure base however can genetics play a bigger role than first though of determining attachment behaviour?"
Has any body got any thoughts on this, I am a mature student and its the first time I have been required to write in this style and I am really unsure whether of this is feasible??
Thanks
