Compare/Contrast news story from the last year to historical event/era before the 1500s

Hi, I'm trying to find a connection between a news story recent times (past year) that can relate to an event/era before the 1500s. I was going to use the recent attack in Egypt at the Mosque, which killed over 250 innocent people, but I'm not sue what kinds of connections I can make. I know the Origins of Islam were before the 1500s, so if that is a viable thing to right about please inform me further. i was also going thinking of writing about Universities since they were first created in the middle ages. Hi Jeff, you could probably reference the Islamic invasion of India in reference to the Egypt events. This massacre is considered the biggest in the history of India with over 400 million Hindus killed in 1560. I don't want you to take that as a legitimate source of information since it is an open blog. Rather, I would like you to read the article, take what ideas that you can, and research the material through academic and legitimate sources accordingly.
