Choosing a topic, gathering relevant information, planning, and organizing the research paper are some of the most common challenges students experience in the writing process. Thus, choosing a topic and developing a cogent thesis and outline page are prerequisites for the research paper required for this course. They offer a provisional map of the best order to plan and present material that may be modified as your ideas and research evolve.
For the Title, Thesis, Outline, and Bibliography assignment:
- First, access the instructions for the research paper and decide what topic you wish to write your essay on.
- Next, develop a one-page thesis and outline that sums up your research paper's main point and provides a list of logically arranged major points supporting the thesis. Be thorough; include subheadings and supporting textual evidence where necessary.
- Furthermore, revise the thesis/outline page to make sure it flows logically and systematically. Have someone peer review it or contact the Online Writing Center for feedback.
- Write a working title that is catchy and sums up the thesis and outline.
- Create a Works Cited/References/Bibliography page (depending on what style you are using) of all of your sources. You should have 5 secondary sources in addition to the primary text.
1.) Research an author's life. How does understanding more about a specific author increase the understanding of his/her works?
I am choosing Thomas Hardy. Can people help me come up with facts to help me with this paper?
