Here is the essay prompt:
Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." What goals do you currently have for yourself and how will the Honors College help you "make a difference, live and live well" in the community around you?

I'm having trouble even thinking of a layout for this essay. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

You can start the introduction by arguing around the Ralph Waldo Emerson 's statement. Talk about hard situations you have faced and link these difficulties to your goals, which have triggered you to continue the journey of life. In the following paragraphs talk more about yourself and your life. Focus on the obstacles you had to overcome to achieve your goals. Finally, talk about the college and the ways it can help you to pursue and fulfill your goals.

This is my suggestion, hope it helps you.
