Here my problem I have to write an in class essay tomorrow
and i wrote a rough introduction to be prepared
The topics are...
Memory and Ethnic identity...the ways that shared history is important to the group feeling essential to ethnic identity (family history, "racial" history, historical experience of victimization.)
OR
Violence, victimization, and ethnicity... the extent to which "ethnic identity" is dependent upon (or the result of) experience of group victimization or violence.
i'm suppose to integrate quotes from specific essays given
anyways can someone please proof read my intro and give some suggestions by tonight???
Thanks!
"The color of our skin and the features of our figure are passed on to us by our ancestors through the double helix molecule called genes. These genes are passed on to us and we have to live with it forever. It is like everyone has been dealt a single card in a fifty two card deck and one has to live with the color, figure and suit of that card forever. Everyone should respect other's divine and unique identity, but throughout every major war in history conflict was based on the collision of two or more ethnic groups. Therefore, ethnicity issues often collide with discrimination and racism. Although ethnicity may seem to collide with discrimination and racism, it is really based on learning and accepting other cultural heritage to have diversity in a multi-cultural community."
