Coming of Age Texts teach us that to grow up is to face unexpected and unknown obstacles that prepare us for adulthood?

The texts are Jane Eyre and Bend it like Beckham (movie)

Can you elaborate on how you are going to tie in Bend it like Beckham and Jane Eyre, for one as coming of age, and to in relation to each other? Try outlining. Then from that start some writing. you could begin your intro first discussing how everyone has a different celebration/task for coming of age. this would open you up to discuss the similarities and differences of your two texts. an additional example you could use in your intro is within the religion of Judaism at the age of 12/13 both boys and girls become adult of the community. In todays modern society it is customary for the boy to read for the first time from the bible, this takes a whole year of preparation. afterwards there is often celebratory meal. (the Internet has a lot more detail)..also other tribal religions often require some test of skill such as hunting. hope this helps
