I have to write one on an essay called "Sanctuary" by Scott Russell Sanders for comp 2 but I'm not sure totally how to write one.. It says no more than 1/3 of the essay should be a summary.. So what should I write in the rest of the essay? Just my view of the subject? or what?
How do you write a personal response essay?
Greetings!
In a personal response essay, you will be discussing your reaction to the author's work, mainly in terms of how his expression of ideas creates an emotional and intellectual response in you. Look at how he wrote his essay. Did he make soothing or harsh word choices? Did he employ a lot of metaphor? If so, were they effective metaphors? He uses a lot of very active descriptors: "the blooming, darting, singing world." Does this give you more of a sense of immediacy, of being there? Were you able to visualize the world he was describing, and, if so, how did it make you feel?
I hope this helps!
Thanks,

Good evening.
Since there are no specifics to the assignment, it is very difficult for me to say exactly what your instructor is looking for. Generally, almost all essays are "personal essays" as they contain your specific opinion, thoughts, and/or feelings about a specific topic. It mostly ends up being a very strong opinion piece about something, because there should be no effort to objectify your thoughts on the topic. There are usually no cited resources, no secondary opinions, and there is no concealment that this writing is your opinion.
I hope this helps.

Good afternoon.
A personal response is your personal interpretation and analysis of this movie. What did you find intriguing in it, what did it mean to you? How did you relate it to yourself, if at all? This prompt sounds like it is asking for your own personal answer to this question. Think hard, and you will do just fine.
Best of luck.

Chevening Essay On Study In the UK
Am applying for Chevening and i need a guide on the essays.
Download the application packet. Chevening essays are pretty much self- explanatory and offer clear writing guides for the applicants within the descriptive instructions. I am not sure what guides are needed. I can only offer guidance to the applicant after having read the response drafts. Writing directions are already provided so the writer only needs to write about the relevant information. If the applicant has a problem writing a specific essay, then he should ask directly about how to approach that prompt based on his abilities and qualifications. I cannot guess those things since the applicant has not offered any preliminary writing in relation to the writing requirement to me at this point. Write the essays first then have it reviewed here.
