How to write a song Review for History of California class?

Write a critical review of the song you selected. The review should contain a synopsis of the story. I want to be able to tell you listened to the song. But, The focus should be the specific images of California beig portrayed and how that is image is central to the story being told. How is California an indespensible part of the song. The song I choose was California Here We Come By Al Jolson. I need some help writing it I have no idea how to write critical review and then relating it to what he wants.
