I will update my essay later...

Dear all, I really appreciate your help with my sop.

Applicants to the Engineer's degree program and the Ph.D. program must submit a 500-word "Statement of Purpose" emphasizing the applicant's research interests, as well as outlining the applicant's professional and academic goals.

----------------------------------------------------

As part of my undergraduate research, I developed software allowing use XML digital signature on web service. At that time, I realized that detailed planning, including data collection, system analysis, software architecture, and software testing is very important. Meanwhile, Software Engineering is one of my Compulsory subjects. I am interested in reuse-oriented model in order to reduce the amount of my software program.

I will complete update my essay later...
--------------------------------------------------------

thank you for your help

Here's a quick revision for grammar:

As part of my undergraduate research, I developed software allowing the use of XML digital signatures on web services . At that time, I realized that detailed planning, is very important including data collection, system analysis, software architecture, and software testing is very important .

After finishing my college, I decided to choose CIM development as a career ; I am in charge of developing programs according to customers' requirements . I gained a lot of experience in discussing feedback with the customers, performing requirement analysis, and designing plans to complete my work. During 2006-2008, I joined XXX Materials' MES Project in Japan; I am in charge of Software Quality Assurance. Among the various projects I worked on, I was most interested in Software Engineering.

I hope in the future that I can using my understanding of software engineering to improve CIM system quality.

I am interested in reuse-oriented model in order to reduce the amount of my software program.

This (above) seems unclear to me, perhaps because of my ignorance about software and stuff like that... but can you make it easier to understand? It is great that you already have experience in the field. Good luck in school, they'll be lucky to have you!

I'm trying to decide whether the last two small paragraphs should be condensed into one?

:)

Here is some more help, for this part:

Second, by conducting research under professors, I can gain strong understanding about software engineering in advanced stage. Third , in addition to apply knowledge in research project, I would like to keep developing positive working relationships with my team members, always carry out my commitments, take responsibility to do additional tasks even I don't like.

After completing my Master's degree, I would like to help my customers to not only build new systems but also have ability to analysis existing systems in limited budget to achieve the greatest benefit.

As part of my undergraduate research, I developed software allowing the use of XML digital signature on web services. At that time, I realized that detailed planning, including data collection, system analysis, software architecture, and software testing is are very important. Meanwhile, Software Engineering is one of my Compulsory subjects. I am interested in reuse-oriented model such as try trying to modify existing components to meet a new function in order to reduce the amount of my software program.

After finishing college, I decided to choose CIM development as a career; I am in charge of developing programs according to customers' requirements. I gained a lot of experience in discussing feedback with the customers, performing requirement analysis, and designing plans to complete my work. I had the opportunity to discuss with customer to find the balance of the constraints on the system's operation and development. (<- do you understand what does this sentence mean?) During 2006-2008, I joined Applied Materials' MES Project in Japan; I am in charge of responsible for Software Quality Assurance. I need to check the software system is fit for customer's purpose requests. I must read requirements and design specification to write test scenarios. Among the various projects I worked on, I am eager to pursue higher education in software engineering.

My major academic goal is to get a software engineer degree in 2 years. There are several minor goals that I wish to accomplish. First, participating in professional development and internship opportunities at school or companies which involve large system, large workgroup, deal with end users, legacy system include the reuse, understanding, and modification. Second, by conducting research under professors, I can gain strong understanding about software engineering in advanced stage. Third, in addition to apply knowledge in research project, I would like to keep developing positive working relationships with my team members, always carry out my commitments, take responsibility to do additional tasks even I don't like.

After completing my Master's degree, I would like to help my customers to not only build new systems but and also have ability to analysis existing systems in limited budget to achieve the greatest benefit. Furthermore, I have set my career goals to be a Project Manager and System Analyzer by not only enhance enhancing professional skills but also and try to analyze problem from various angles in order to find out possible solutions, and determine which course of action is the best to take, and develop good group communication, organization. I hope that, in the future, I can using my understanding of software engineering to improve CIM system quality.

Well, why don't you start by posting some of the reasons why you personally think that being a software engineer is desirable? Then we could help you refine those reasons into a thesis statement.
