i present in Cameroon i wish some one could kindly help me with a STATEMENT OF PURPOSE.
i attended the advance school of engineering graduated with and undergraduate degree and wish to continue my education for a graduate studies in Petroleum Engineering in the United States, your response will be highly appreciated
Your statement of purpose is designed to tell the school to which you are applying why you want to attend, what your interests are, and what you plan to do with your degree once you attain it. Think about what your reasons are for continuing your education and what particular areas of study you wish to focus on; include this in your statement. I would suggest that you write it in your own words and then post it here so that I can help you with some editing.
I look forward to reading it!
hi sarah here is the rough sketch of my sop and i really appreciate u replying me and go through this process with u
The enormous numbers of challenges thrown out by rapid development in science and technology have made me choose engineering as a profession. I take this opportunity to describe my educational background and career objectives that motivated me to pursue a career in petroleum industry. My undergraduate education has provided a thorough exposure to the various specialties available in the Engineering field, thus stimulating interest my in advanced research.
In my undergraduate years, I've acquired a strong background in the fundamentals of the basic mechanical engineering subjects like Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass transfer, Solid Mechanics, Fluid mechanics, Mechanics of Machines, Design of machine elements etc. Furthermore, I also took courses that detail the process involving products from the downstream sector in the petroleum industry.
Inspiration and enthusiasm well up in me through the operation technician job I took with a petroleum company (Elf Cameroon) where I learned how to work against time, visualized things, and apply concept in real time industrial projects. After almost half a year at my work, I am more molded and mature with respect to my professional life. I have decided to pursue my graduate studies in the petroleum engineering.
Recently, there has been major focus on the world energy conservation and adverse effects of environmental pollution causes by oil and gas exploration. These trends intrigued me and I want to be part of that team that explored ways to reduce this pollution and also devise more economical ways of oil and gas exploration. I have been reading books and exploring the internet on books and research topics that deal with energy and environmental conservation. This has broadened my knowledge and equipped me with the tools to pursue a master's in petroleum engineering. After completing my master's degree I will like to go into an extensive research in ways to minimized environmental pollution. In a long term, I am interested in the possibilities of using my understanding of petroleum engineering to positively impact the environment. I envision a career in this field as a culmination of my varied interest and I would appreciate the opportunity to pursue this at the Colorado School of Mines.
Since graduate study is an important step in my professional life, I don't want to compromise on the quality of my education, but when it comes to quality education, your university is one of the few places I can think of. I also view your university as an ideal place where I could get the chance to work on real time projects.
I am confident that I have the preparations and potentials to prove an asset to your graduate program as a graduate student and as an assistant with research or teaching duties. Thank you for your consideration I look forward to an intellectually inspiring and fruitful association with your university.
I am applying for graduate studies in your reputable university to enable me add value and enhance my future. As a Chemical Engineer who has acquired the fundermentals of basic chemical engineering subjects like thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, fliud mechnics, seperation processes and others, studying Process System Engineering will take my career and professional life upward to the next level. Also considering the development trend in the Oil and Gas industries, the need for Process Engineers is on high demand. So by studying Process System Engineering will make me relevant in sustainable developement in my Country and the world in general. I therefore see your institution ( University of Regina) as the ideal place to achieve to enhance my future.
You have a good SOP; I only have a few mechanical corrections:
"I am applying for graduate studies in your reputable university to enable me add value to and enhance my future. As a c hemical e ngineer who has acquired the fundermentals of basic chemical engineering subjects like thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, fluid mechnics, seperation processes, and others, studying p rocess s ystem e ngineering will take my career and professional life upward to the next level. Also considering the development trend in the o il and g as industries, the need for p rocess e ngineers is in high demand. S tudying p rocess s ystem e ngineering will make me relevant in the sustainable developement in my c ountry and the world in general. I therefore see your institution as the ideal place to achieve to enhance my future."
Really good SOP, straight to the point, and very crucial fact that he pointed his research interests in a good way
Your SOP is very exact, its very straight to the point just as bhasanov said.
Well done, good job.
I am confused about a question that says' " GIve a detailed explanation of your proposed field of study and your specific area of interest"
Does this question wants the explaination why I chose XXX field of study? or What XXX field of study is about or mean?
Your response would be greatly appreciated.
Hi! No, this is not a report about the field of study. This should be a reflective essay where you look deep into your own mind and see what it is that inspires you to get into XXX field of study. This essay is about what drives you. It is very meaningful, and I hope that you will benefit much by writing it!
