School has asked for two separate statements, written below. Please review and provide feedback on structure and content.

Experience Summary:

I'm senior IT professional with in-depth and diverse experience in designing, developing and managing IT projects across different business domains. I have helped various medium and large organizations by performing business process analysis and designing technical solutions to improve business performance.

Right after completing my engineering degree and then post graduate diploma in advanced computing, I worked as software engineer. Later as technical lead and solution architect, I helped solve more complex business problems such as legacy migrations and business transformations. Many of these legacy systems had neither business process nor technical design documentation available. Hence it took lot of time and effort to analyze them. More often than not these systems were developed on the fly with very little effort going into formal development cycle, leading to poor design decisions. It gave me better insight into why and how today's poor design decisions can become greater issues for tomorrow.

One of the challenging projects that I handled was for a global retailer organization that was undergoing major restructuring and IT department was on consolidation drive. I was leading application rationalization initiative for front-office and back-office portfolios. During the exercise, approx. 300 applications were identified as de-commissioning candidates as they either provided little business value or were redundant or not being used at all. This project gave me very valuable experience to understand why an organization needs to have an integrated and consistent approach to carry out not only daily business operations but organization changes and innovations as well. I believe this is where enterprise architecture as a discipline will play very critical role.

My current technical experience along with project management skills has prepared me to take up a senior and strategic IT positions. As I prepare to step into senior management roles, I have set some professional goals for myself and a Master's degree will play a significant role in achieving those. My short term goal is to join a large organization, preferably Fortune 100, as an enterprise architect. I plan to work in this position for next few years to help the companies improve business performance. My medium term goal is move up the ladder as either CIO or COO. I expect this role to help me understand know-how of senior management's role in navigating the organization to run its daily operations and achieve long term objectives simultaneously. My longer term goal is to manage and lead an organization as CEO, before moving onto starting my own firm in business consulting area to help EME (Emerging Market Economy) organizations especially.

Your University is one of the very few universities globally to have this kind of dedicated program for enterprise architecture. Your MDS program is poised to help me achieve my goals due to its flexibility and quality. I'm confident that this program complements my current work experience and will increase my chances to secure position as an enterprise architect in a large organization. I look forward to join the program in upcoming fall session.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------

Curriculum Plan:
I plan to take up Enterprise Architect as MDS concentration. Apart from studying mandatory EA courses, I intend to take up following digital science courses during my graduate course program -

* Enterprise Architecture
* Management Information Systems
* Ethics, Technology, and the Environment
* Information Security
* Managerial Economics

Being a strategic position within an organization, an Enterprise Architect will be expected not only to possess in-depth and diverse technical skills but management and financial knowledge as well. Above subjects will help me gain those skills. I plan to further discuss with faculty availability of additional courses in financial area.
