How does the mother tongue affect to speaking English of first years student Vietnamese

1. Introduction

English is an international, global and a Universal language. Therefore, English is compulsory in Vietnam education early. Vietnamese character language and English are similar about origin that is the roman alphabet. However, most of Vietnamese speak English as well as Thai or Philippine.

The transference of language (language transfer) is an important characteristic in the second language acquisition, and it contributes to a thorough explanation for any phenomenon occurring in the first language acquisition process (especially it occurs in the process of acquiring the language of adults). Transference language (language transfer) by T.Odin (1989) initiated the project of the same name meant to be the impact of the knowledge they have already acquired previously - on the language and culture of the native or a different language and culture, that is not the target language - impact on the process of acquiring and students use their knowledge about pragmatics are attending. According to this definition, the transfer of negative language (negative transfer) be interpreted as applying improper means, structure, rules of their mother tongue in the foreign language learning process, make the use of language that language is different from the standard deviation target language (target norms). This transference phenomenon has profound reasons from the difference between the two languages. Negative transference is represented at every level and the level of language. Negative transference school teachers are more concerned approach is positive transference (positive transfer, type of transference produces spokesman close to the target language) because this is the kind of transference caused many problems best for language learning and communicate with native speakers. There are many studies point out the influence of the mother tongue is one of the causes of errors and negative transference of learning a foreign language. Many studies on language learner errors have, as Lado (1957), Fries (1965), Ellis (1985) M. Sriprabha (2015), Shruti Pal (India), Engelbertha Maria Serviam Rahamitu (2013) also took this view. As Mackay (1967) [3] points out ... "error may be due to a transfer from the native language; an analogy with something correctly learned in the foreign language; a wild guess, vagueness in remembering the right form; or general lack of accuracy and language skill." However, these studies almost exclusively focused primarily on identifying the language transfer rather than specific research factors affecting such transference as well as the learners' awareness of this negative impact . Moreover, the actual process of teaching in Speaking, the authors found that students, especially object first-year students tend to grammar usage, then thinking and translating word by word from their native language into lessons speak English. Moreover, they often make a mistake in pronunciation, using words, word order because there are differences between the two languages. Hence, their speech is often anonymous translation from the native language into English, not academic in nature and linked to the mindset of the natives and influent when speaking. Of all these, transfer from the mother tongue or interference id the most common one. Therefore, if it is so the results of the research will confirm it.

2. Objectives of the study

This research will find out, points out the factors that influence the mother tongue to English speaking, as well as awareness of learners, to help both teachers and students can control the negative effects and adjust the learning and teaching more effective and reasonable.

3. Contents of research

- To investigate the difference in pronunciation system between the mother tongue and English
- To study the way learners of English language speak in high school and secondary school
- To provide guidelines and suggestions to be used in teaching and learning English and intend them learning effective English ways.

4. Research methodology

- Participants: 46 students in first-year University. All were in attendance basic speaking skill 1 in the first semester. Most of them have never been exposed to Speaking a basically.

- - Research tools: Comparison of reference (Contrastive Analysis) and analysis of error (Error Analysis). Comparative (CA) is the most basic approach is used to analyze the influence of the mother tongue. According to Richards and Schmidt (2002), CA focused on comparing two different language systems to find out the problems common language learners. In the 1960s, the method error analysis (EA) has been developed as an alternative tool for comparison. This method has shown that: Influence of Mother Tongue on the Post of students is more complex. James (2001) described this method as an alternative approach is used to recognize the error was ignored by students when learning a second language. Jie (2008) also support the effectiveness of this method in the analysis of errors caused by the influence of the mother tongue. It can be seen that this approach not only supports researchers recognize the influence of the mother tongue when learning a second language, but also help students to understand the causes mistakes and how to fix them. Also, to find out the awareness of students about the native language influenced the process of learning to speak English, the team can use the extra questionnaire consists of 6 questions with content including receiving students' understanding of the influence of the mother tongue, learn the causes and solutions. This stock is distributed to students before the start the semester.

- Way data collection: 3 interview selected article: introduce yourself, talk about your plan in the future, and talk about the person you love the best. This is one of the posts express the synthesis of knowledge and skills students have been trained and are familiar topics in everyday life, so students can speak with love, and the feelings, their true thoughts with time in 2 minutes. Then, teachers will listen and collect their comment about participants, statistics, and errors students make an analysis.

- Analysis and processing of data: 138 comments were collected and analyzed for errors using the method of analysis errors and all errors will be confirmed through three language experts, had taught speaking at universities in Vietnam for at least 10 years, to be able to accurately identify the real fault of Vietnamese students to speak. Statistics depict used in this study include frequency of calculation errors and the number of percentages. In addition, the team also statistics and specific analysis of questionnaire survey to further clarify the students' awareness of this influence.

You have used many repetitive words in passage 1.
eg.make the use of language that language is different from the standard deviation
you can write like this>>make the use of language that is different from standard deviation.

And to be honest,I noticed that you used the complicated sentences.
eg.." However, these studies almost exclusively focused primarily on ...
you can simplify this sentence by reducing the adjective you used>>However, these studies almost focused exclusively and primarily on the transferred language.
