1. I was born in the city of Nizams - Hyderabad, India.
2. I spent a majority of my childhood in the National Police Academy, Hyderabad. This allowed me to be involved in several sports such as Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Swimming and wall climbing from a very young age. This not only helped me become more disciplined in life, but also helped me develop a passion for sports. I still play all of these sports and have represented my college in a few of them.
3. I spent my early childhood living in a joint family. There was so much happening everyday! Sometimes, I miss it.
4. I love watching movies, and have gone through professional Film Appreciation and Criticing courses. I have since been involved in various film festivals as a jury member. I'm usually the youngest in the team.
5. Love Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Vince Gilligan is a genius.
6. My dad is an engineer and my mom is a doctor. While most people with such a combination of parents in India chose to pursue engineering or medicine, I decided to take up pure Sciences.
7. I love Deeaals! Who doesn't, right? But I love them a little too much. I'm always on the look for discounts and deals.
8. I've never really understood the Harry Potter hype.
9. I'm a dog person.
10. For some reason, I keep getting injured very often. I have lost count of the number of stitches I have had. I've lost 3 nails so far.
11. I love staying away from the city life every now and then, and my work at OpenWater lets me do exactly that.
12. When I was 10 years old, I forgot to wear my swimming costume and jumped into a pool naked. My friends still tease me about it.
13. The Bhutanese Prison Scene in the beginning of Batman Begins is my favorite.
Big man: You are in hell, little man. And I am the devil.
Bruce: You are not the devil. You're practice.
This quote always helps me when I face adversities or adversaries: They're not the devil, they're just practice. I've lost count how many times that one quote has helped to lift me up from the floor.
14. I listen to almost all types of music. My favorite artist is Swedish singer Darin Zanyar.
15. I don't read fiction books much, especially when they are very long.
16. When I was small, a cactus plant cut through my skin, while I was running and left a huge scar on my arm. It looks very nice!
17. In the HPAIR conference, I peed right next to the Blackberry CEO - John. S. Chen. Maybe I should add that to my resume?
18. I love eating with chopsticks! My friends at Tsinghua and NUS taught me the basics when I went to Beijing and Singapore for the Tri-University Asia Entrepreneurship and Innovation Immersion Program.
19. I love watching WWE. I know it's scripted and sometimes the storyline is bad, but I still love it.
20. In my free time, I like to practice and improve my carpentry skills with the tools and materials I always keep with me. In fact all the 'furniture' in my room at college were created by me.
21. I think the ratings by Rotten Tomatoes are accurate at most times. But my favorite movie - '300 - Rise of an Empire' was rated 'rotten'.
22. I feel very deeply concerned about the water scarcity problem in India. Ever since I went for a Science Project in Pabal, a village with acute water scarcity, I understood the full extent of the water scarcity problem in India. I have been working extremely hard to do something about it. I built a Hydraulic Ram Pump in Pabal that still serves around 20 families. After joining IISc, I worked on a research project to improve nano-porous structures, which can be used to create superior water filters. Later, I worked on commercializing a membrane-less and chemical free device that can purify water very effectively. The handheld device can potentially help the 330 million Indians that still don't have access to safe water.
23. I love riding my bike, and spend a lot of time modding and customizing it. Although I consider myself a good rider, I have fallen from my bike 3 times.
24. I love working out and maintaining a clean diet.
25. My favorite food item is the American Cheeseburger, although I've never been to America. It's very popular in India, and I can't wait to eat an authentic Aulden and Harrow Secret burger when I come to America.
