Hey Everyone...!

I need guidance for the Statement of purpose for Masters in Automotive Engineering...!
I have written an essay. Here it is...Please do spot the errors and let me know!

PERSONAL INTRODUCTION LETTER:
The modern day world is driven by wheels but the intensity and versatility of its usage could have been unthinkable at the time of its invention itself. The power of engine got attached to it at a later stage and now it plays a vital role in our lives than ever before. These engines and the whole science behind it is now quite diverse and exciting. It is shaping our world for the future. The man on the steering of a vehicle takes control of a modern day machine which is the manifestation of thousand hands used in its manufacturing. The engineering at the heart of this sector, i.e., Automotive Engineering offers a challenging and demanding career enabling engineers to build machines that do not require direct human energy.

My passion for Automotive takes me to the memories of my childhood when I had a great interest in Racing Sports and Cars. Human beings are obsessed with the idea of command and control over things and the idea of controlling a car has always been very thrilling and invigorating. Since my school days I have been deeply impressed by the local mechanic to whom my father used to take the car and he carried the image of a qualified, experienced doctor who understands the pulse of the patients. Then I read about Enzo Ferrari, the founder of Ferrari and the first owner of Ferrari F1 team (1940), and later science studies in school provided a discipline to these childhood impressions and thoughts and bred the desire to study this branch of engineering. The car manuals have always appealed me like interesting short stories and industry news were and are at the top of my first hand general knowledge. I have been reading Auto Pages, the most popular automotive magazine in Pakistan. Cable TV started its transmission in Pakistan about 15 years back and became very popular as it was considered as most cheap and comprehensive source of information that every family can afford. As I also belong to a middle class family we also bought cable TV connection. Channels like Discovery and National Geographic became my inspiration towards automobiles and automation of machines Programs like American Chopper, Biker Build Off and American Hotrod further developed my interest towards automobiles.

My craze for automotive did not let my studies be affected and in line with the demands of the Pakistani Education System, I have always maintained overall high academic standards and secured 85.42% and 82% of marks in the S.S.C and H.S.S.C Examinations, and 2.83 CGPA in B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, respectively. The Medium of Instruction in my sixteen years education was English and I have also passed SAT I Examination.

Currently, I am a student of Mechanical Engineering, as it is considered the 2nd most prestigious branch of engineering in Pakistan and no university in Pakistan offers Automotive Engineering. I have studied subjects like Engineering Mathematics I and II (Integration, Differentiation, Differential Equation, Partial Differential Equation and Fourier series), Mechanics of Materials I , Thermodynamics I and II, Machine Design, Theory of Machine tools, Engineering Mechanics , Workshop practices, Basic Engineering Drawing, Heat & Mass Transfer, Mechanical Vibrations, Instrumentation and Control, Stress Analysis which will help me in pursuing Automotive Engineering. I also have a good professional knowledge of software's like AutoCAD, C++, CATIA, ANSYS and Pro E. Presently I am also a member of organizations like American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME and Society of Automobile engineers, SAE. After studying the subject of Thermodynamics and Machine Design in University, other vistas of automotive engineering and designing have opened to me, convincing me for a specialization therein. But still I feel that I am not happy because it was not my actual desire or the thing which I really wanted to do. I still feel that one's skills are better polished in the field which he likes not in the field which is imposed on him.

"Solar Water pump with GSM integrated automation" was the topic of my research project which I completed during the final year of B.sc Mechanical Engineering. It is a prototype of water pump which is being operated on solar energy and is being controlled by GSM module. In agricultural areas it can work as an automated tube well.

It has long been my ambition to pursue my studies in Automotive Engineering and to do it from a country like Italy will be a golden opportunity of my life. I know that not only Germany has got good reputation for higher education around the world but is also ranked among the 8 most industrialized countries in the world along with among top ten contenders of automobiles manufacturing (Quantity). Its automotive industry is among the top manufacturers in the world with famous BMW and Mercedes as the leading success story of quality, modernity and comfort in automobiles.

A degree from a University like ------ would serve as a solid base for a successful career in engineering, where hopefully, I would be involved in the development of new technology for cleaner, economic and more efficient transportation systems. After the completion of my degree I will be able to serve German Automobile Industry and can even serve my country Pakistan because there will be a booming industry established up to that time.

I am very much looking forward to education challenges at the university. I am equally enthralled with the idea of meeting people hailing from different cultures and backgrounds existing at the university campus and I believe that I will be able to adapt to the life there. But most importantly I claim to have the prerequisites for the achievement of a good degree and to progress as a person, which are none other than but hard work, patience and perseverance. These features act as a foundation for any success in this world.

This is all true, but the admission panel may not be too interested in reading this because it has no reference to you whom they are interested in knowing about. So I think you should not dedicate one full para for explaining background and importance of engineering field.

y passion for Automotive takes me to the memories of my childhood when I had a great interest in Racing Sports and Cars.

... I feel this is a good starting point :)
The rest looks fine and you display good writing skills... I wish if you removed the first para :)
