'Three girls and no boys carrying my name' - Physical Therapy PTCAS essay

Question: "Which personal characteristics and motivating factors have led you to pursue the profession of physical therapy?"

Needing help with the first part of my essay. Any incite/editing would be a huge help!

Blessed with three girls and no boys to carry on his name, my father made it his life goal to get his daughters involved in every sport possible. For me it all started at the tender age of six with co-ed soccer. A mere five years later I had acquired two more sports under the coaching direction of my dad. By the time I was 15 years old I was swinging the bat, spiking the ball, acing my opponent and dribbling my way into junior varsity sports. I became accustomed to working hard, not only for the benefit of myself but for my teammates and for the win.

After a little coaxing from my mom, I finally made the decision to dedicate myself to the only sport that I really seemed to have a talent for, tennis. My love for this game began with the first swing of my Wilson Hyper Hammer at eight years old and my passion for it has never waned. Lesson by lesson, match by match, I realized that if I wanted my tennis career to extend beyond high school limits, it would require long arduous hours on the court and in the weight room. By my early teens I had already painfully discovered the effects Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). Trying to survive these aches and pains is what spiked my curiosity about the body and how it works as a functional machine. Working out and became my new obsession. It was from this point on that I knew physical fitness would always remain an important factor in the rest of my life.

Where are you going from here? Explain why you are choosing physical therapy as opposed to a profession in fitness. What experiences have led you towards becoming a physical therapist? What set backs have you had that only validated your choice? Hope this helps a little.
