I think No. 2 should be: Unfortunately, his attempts to convince her were no success.

If you use "his attempts to convince her hadn't ....", then it should be "hadn't been" instead of "hadn't were"

the answer are:

1.) I WISH I COULDN'T GO TO the meeting on Tuesday.

3) Have some coffee in the morning SO YOU CAN have more energy for the day.
