Undergraduate / Self Introduction Essay for Exchange Program in Ajou University [3]
It was 2014 when I realized that have passion for helping other people, specifically when I was appointed to be a liaison officer for students from Bandung (a city in Indonesia) who joined a debate competition held in my faculty. I was accompanying them to provide their needs throughout the competition and informing the important details of the competition, this might look tiring but I found joy and had a lot of fun while doing it. This has led me to concentrate on Human Resource Management, so that I can hopefully help more people whom I will meet in my future company, specifically helping them advance in their careers by listening to and considering their concerns, motivating, rewarding, and developing them.
My friends always described me as a person with high curiosity of anything. I always wanted to try and learn new things whenever the opportunity is there, because I can enrich my mind and broaden my knowledge that way. I have joined several seminar on marketing strategies, investment techniques, corruption eradication, and self-branding. I also have involved in several commitees and an organization where I enjoy being socially active with other members.
I have been awarded as the best sponsorship staff in a sport competition event in my faculty called The 13th FEUI CUP for my enthusiasm in meeting the targets and commitment in attending the weekly progress meetings.
An organization I have mentioned before is actually called Photography and Cinematography League, which based in my faculty. I joined this organization because I also have passion in photography and appreciating films. I spent my leisure time in my way home or to my university (which takes me 1.5 hours because they are on a different province) taking pictures of interesting people and moments or watching movies or Korean dramas which really helpful in enhancing my English pronounciation and adding a lot of Korean daily phrases for my knowledge.
I am intending to get my master degree abroad, so studying in Korea for several months will be beneficial for me because I can improve both my interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Also, there are a lot of courses in Ajou University that are taught in English and match my interest. Therefore, I am determined to be an active and enthusiastic exchange student in Ajou University this fall semester.
