Scholarship / If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Chevening [3]

Buddies, i would be grateful to review my answer to the Networking question of Chevening scholarship application, what contents i would further develop or modify so that i can get a stronger networking essay.

Chevening is looking for individuals with strong networking skills, who will engage with the Chevening community and influence and lead others in their chosen profession. Explain how you meet this requirement, using clear examples of your networking skills, and outline how you hope to use these skills in the future.

scholarschip application (networking)

(If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.)
I'm a huge believer in giving back and helping out in the professional and the personal life and i remember many examples appeal with the African quote above that it's always easier with the people help to get where you want to be. Like people those with abundance mentality, I love to connect and engage with genuine and influential people, I used to share and support whenever there's a possibility. I discovered that when we truly understand the people intentions, respect our differences and communicate effectively, it becomes a habit to build sincere relationships, these relationships bond together to form my fruitful multicultural people network that I'm always trying to maintain and expand further.

I have had the chance to participate in several social activities which embodied the clues and the expectations behind the Chevening Award program, I believe in that acting in a responsible manner may simply be paying back for the social costs of doing any kind of business, one example is an educational development program that was accompanied with Injaz Egypt NGO, the program was called (Adopt a School) focusing on preparing the middle school, high school and university students to enter the workforce as qualified and skilled employees through empowering their personal and professional capabilities, having their minds fullest potential unleashed through expanding their confidence, knowledge and creativity. Through one-hour weekly training , for five consecutive weeks, with plenty of other volunteers, I covered four main pillars of the program as follows;

1-Giving students the necessary skills to succeed within the world-class firms.
2-Discussing with the teachers the modern interactive teaching techniques (like video, e-Learning, etc..)
3-Creating a better learning environment by planning for upgrading the school's facilities.
4-Planning extra activities in the future for the parents and work with them on the school upgrading committee.

Upon completing the training series the students became more confident about their capabilities, equipped with the essential visions and skills that would help plan their career, they also got a network of professional mentors with various backgrounds so that they can call on for help at any time. (Every single minute given by the volunteer is a step forward to empowering and inspiring this next generation of young Egyptians who are the catalyst for change and soon are bound to be the driving force of Egypt's future economy.) Mireille Nashaat said, Programs Manager of INJAZ Egypt.

For the terrific values on myself and the youth people, I love to go through similar activities a million time, engage with the Chevening community, influence and lead others in their chosen profession. If I would succeed to study the clean and renewable energy as my postgraduate subject, I would surly study how to link between the academic study and the labor force, for example where the young engineering students could simulate the academic theories of renewable energy, realize and see how it all work.

Scholarship / Cried, but did it anyway! I have achieved new milestones in my job. [4]

@Raza93
Your essay seem good for me, though you may know the rules of all Chevening essays to be minimum of 100 words up to 500.
However, your essay is exceeding 700 words! You could use one of many free online words counter websites to readjust your essay.

Writing Feedback / Advantages and disadvantages when comparing pubic transport with private cars. [3]

@gviiivayh
I can see your writing has many positive sides such as the thoughtful ideas that you used to explain your opinion in the adv. of public transport over the private transport means in addition to your range of academic vocabulary. However, I propose to improve the overall level of coherent and cohesion because I find it fairly difficult to follow and connect these ideas together. For instance, you can use a fully developed idea about efficiency/cost saving. Secondly, you can move on the environmental aspects and finally use the socialization adv. granted by public transport. Also, i strongly recommend to change your idea about disadv. rather than 'interact with lots of people from different cultures' as long as it is already used as strength point for public transport. For example, some locations don't have direct or non-stop way to reach which consumes time and cost, subsequently sometimes the adv. of cars outweigh the public transport's.

Letters / Writing FB on my Professional Reference Letter for winning Chevening scholarship [2]

reference letter for UK investment

To whom it may concern--

I am thrilled to write this reference letter with regards to Mr. Mohamed Essam whom I spent two years working with on a daily basis between 2015 and 2017 and literally thrived with him through a lot of work challenges and successes. I was appointed as Project Manager for Egypt's primary telecom operator, Telecom XX, while Mr. Mohamed was leading the regional team delivering support services to my customer. Since I joined YY Co. UK, Mohamed and I are keeping regular contact about both professional and personal stuff via phone and the Facebook.

Starting from 2015 our company was entitled to deliver a MEGA project worth of 60M Euro to provide the largest transmission equipment and IT infrastructure in Egypt throughout an enormous footprint in the country, I was appointed as Project Manager for support services of this project. Arriving at early stages of the project and seeing the amount of dedication, influencing by what I consider one of the best leadership approaches - leading by example - Mohamed has put in place an early strategy and various action plans to construct the required teams and train them on job until the ready for services (RFS) dates. Also, he has contributed with every aspect in establishing an effective relationship with the customer which was promising of a proactive mentality and a great personality. Always being prepared and on-time for meetings was a trademark for him and it became a team mentality.

Firstly, I need to emphasise the fact that not all people can work with multi-national/culture customers, while our newly appointed customer brought up a lot of different characters on board beside the high risks that have been already there, I can say that Mr. Mohamed's understanding and supportive attitude was a critical pillar in managing the customer and dealing with the different situations concerning support/services.

In support field, I witnessed a live example of strong networking with customer starting by ability to attentively listen to understand work problems using comprehensive approaches, being able to analyse and to break down the problem and present solutions in a clear way, going to prioritization based on the best business interests and finally using his communication skills to speak with the right stakeholders, not to forget his neat follow-up till resolution. That was a good exercise not only to stretch our capabilities rather than to show the customer that we as a company were able to apply Effective Relationship Management.

Secondly, in life outside work Mr. Mohamed Essam is highly motivated and self-consistent person always emphasizing life ethics to all his circle, I understand that building a professional circle that can influence someone's long term success needs more than a good leader, striving for win:win scenarios and receptiveness to the feedback from others were the most mature aspects I observed in him.

In conclusion, personally I have no doubt that Mr. Mohamed will deliver added value to UK investment in Chevening scholarship and to his community in Egypt at a large scale, so I strongly recommend him for this prestigious award. A part of my intention here is to see an amazing transformation in his career believing that he already got the bases of a great leader owning his tools for success.

I hope this information will be helpful, should you require any clarification don't hesitate to contact me at my below mail.

Best Regards,

Graduate / Ideal balance between theory and practical application. Personal Statement - Business Analytics [3]

Jørgen, your personal statement has been nicely written as it shows the admissions tutors how the course will link your past and future, imply your academic and non-academic skills and highlight why you've chosen this course/institution. But, it is too long. The optimal length of PS should be around 250 - 500 words at max. here you considerably exceeded 800 words. So, try to be more direct to the point, use less complex sentence structure, talk less about the evolution of Big Data and more about your professional goals after this course.

Undergraduate / Sustainable management - self introduction, job application [3]

Coming from remote technical support background I recommend to include the following as strengths in your application: you should describe yourself as hard worker able to work flawlessly under pressure, owning high diagnostic skills that help you to be good problems solver, sympathetic to customer in a way that helps the company to achieve the highest level of satisfaction...Good luck after all in your next challenge.
