Writing Feedback / [IELTS] - Fatherhood implies environment provided by father to his children for their growth [8]

Hi valuable community, the essay below is from Cambridge IELTS Book 2 > Test 1 > Writing Task 2. Hoping for your precious suggestion regarding the essay that I've written. Could you please tell me how much marks should I get with this essay out of 9? Thank you.

"Fatherhood ought to be emphasized as much as motherhood. The idea that women are solely responsible for deciding whether or not to have babies leads on to the idea that they are also responsible for bringing the children up."

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Fatherhood implies the care given by father to his children and environment provided by father to his children for their growth. I fully agree to the given statement that fatherhood should also be emphasized as motherhood and women are also as responsible as male in bringing their children up.

In any society people often think that women give birth, takes care, nourish and teach different skills to children. Although this is very much true father is also equally responsible, father is mainly credited for earning money or getting food. Families with a good father do not generally have to worry about food, spending or good family environment. These are the reasons why I believe that fatherhood needs to be equally emphasized as motherhood.

Another important fact in most of our society that woman generally takes that decision about whether or not to have baby. This shows that women are also responsible for bringing up their children. From our childhood we have been observing that mother nourishes, cleans educates children which are responsible tasks. This example shows that mothers are also equally responsible to bringing up children.

Furthermore there are a lot of single parents these days in our society who need to play role of both father and mother to bring up the children which is very difficult job.

Finally I'd like to conclude by saying that although motherhood is widely considered in most of the societies fatherhood must also be emphasized because father creates good environment for their children to live a better life.

Thanks a lot for your reply, could you please tell me why this essay is: stereotypical. I don't know why I could not figure that out.

I re-checked the grammar and singular plural usages but was not able to figure out any mistake :(.

I think these IELTS Cambridge essays are limited and timed if I'm not correct?

Yes we need to finish one essay in 40 minutes.

Finally thank you so much once again. I'll try hard to improve my thought process.

Writing Feedback / [IELTS] 'Developed Countries' - World literacy rates by region and by gender. [2]

The bar chart shows illiteracy rates by region and by gender for the year 2000. Overall, it can clearly be seen that female illiteracy rates are much higher than that of the male.

The bar chart shows illiteracy rates by region and by gender for the year 2000. Overall, it can clearly be seen that female illiteracy rate are much higher than that of the male.

As far male are concerned, lowest illiteracy rates ware in Developed Countries with 1%, East Asia/Oceania with 8% (approximately) and Latin America/Caribbean with 10%. Highest (highest what???) rates were in South Asia, Arab States and Sub-Saharan Africa with 55% (approximately), 52% (approximately) and 48% (approximately) respectively.

>> Please correct the spelling of were

It is apparent, that the illiteracy rates for males in those three counties are quite similar.

Female illiteracy rates was rates were much higher. Highest rates ware were in South Asia, Arab States and Sub-Saharan Africa with 55% (approximately), 52% (approximately) and 48% (approximately) respectively.

>> rate instead of rates,

Again it can clearly be seen that the rates for those three countries are quite similar to each other . Lowest rates were again in Developed Countries developed countries with 2%, Latin America/Caribbean with 11% and East Asia/Oceania with 20%.

>> Please dont start with "Again" you can start with "It can be clear seen" or "It can clearly be seen"

Sorry to say that I found a lot of mistakes.

Writing Feedback / IELTS : The chart below shows the amount of leisure time enjoyed by men & women [2]

Dear community: Could you please give me how much marks will I get out of 9 in this essay? Thank you in advance.

Cambridge IELTS book 2 >> Test 2 >> Writing task 1

The chart below shows the amount of leisure time enjoyed by men and women of different employment status.

Answer:
The given graph shows the hours of leisure time in a typical week enjoyed by males and females of different employment status between the year 1998 and 1999.

To begin, Unemployed males and retired males have maximum leisure time, that is approximately 80 hours per week, but in the case of unemployed females and retired females, they have comparatively less leisure time, that is about 72 hours per week.

It is interesting to see that employed full time males have more free time than employed part time females, which are approximately 48 hours and 40 hours per week respectively. Fulltime employed women have comparatively less free time which is about 38 hours per week. Housewives have approximately 50hrs per week leisure time which is slightly more than the leisure time that fulltime employed males get.

Finally to conclude unemployed and retired people enjoy for about same time which is maximum, and all other employment status enjoy between 38-50 hours per week. The conclusion that can be drawn from the graph is; females enjoy comparatively less than their male counterpart.
