Graduate / SOP for PhD in Recycled Concrete Aggregates. [7]

Please have a glance and try to concise it, If possible.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
I am a Assistant Professor in Department of Civil Engineering of Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Punjab, India. Upon receiving the Graduate degree I felt completely satisfied with my decision to choose Civil Engineering as my carrier option as it has revealed my pragmatic and down to earth approach to tackle the problems. My enthusiasm coupled with a scope for innovation forced me to opt for higher education while I was working after my Graduation. So I opt for Post-graduation with majors in Structure and Construction Engineering.

During my four semesters in Post-graduation, I have taken various courses like Earthquake Resistance Design of structures, Advanced Structural Analysis, Advanced Construction Practice, Concrete Structure Laboratory etc. From the above courses, I have learned the fundamentals of them and I firmly believe it can applied in the field through meaningful research.

For my esteemed PhD research topic, I am interested in studying about is Concrete Technology. I would also like to learn more about the strength of the Recycled Concrete Aggregate and Recycled Aggregate Concrete, its durability property and replacement of pozzolanic content by using glass powder, copper slag, silica flume, metkaolin, fly ash, rice husk ash etc. I also want to deepen my knowledge about its physical and mechanical properties as well.

During my education at high school and university, I took part in a student's association which helped me develop many key skills such as organization, leadership and teamwork. This experience has taught me adaptability and developed my skills of public speaking and diplomacy. My strengths are my consistency, capacity for hard work, and my ability to work individual as well as in a team.

I choose Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) because it is one of the prestigious universities in China. Besides, it is well-known for the good quality of its educational system and the capacity for research and innovation. Getting my esteemed PhD here can give me an international cultural dynamism experience. I think, it would be a perfect start of my career, and I could build up good relationships in my profession, and personal life also. Study at XJTLU could be the nucleus to accomplish my goals, as ample opportunities exist for students like me to initiate independent study and to become involved in active research programs, both experimental and theoretical.

With my strong academic background and relevant activities, I am confident that I would be qualified and able to perform well in this program. I am also confident that by given this opportunity, I can contribute to the ongoing work at XJTLU graduate program in a productive manner. I hope the above experiences, knowledge, skills and motivation make me convenient to be accepted in XJTLU. Thank you very much for considering my application.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL ESSAY: professional athletes or performers shouldn't be involved in politics. [4]

As to me, I think that celebrities involved in politics has both advantage and disadvantage, depending on their contributions to the society.
According to me the involvement of celebrities in politics is a crucial decision, as they will always be judged by the contributions to the society.

That means, they can contribute to improving their career's living situations by using their influence.
With this they can efficiently improve their career's living situations by using their influence.

I am in little hurry will come back and reply more.

Scholarship / Study Plan for review - it should include tile, content, method, key problem and time schedule. [6]

Please review the Plan of study written, according to me supervisor it should include tile, content, method, key problem, time schedule. If you think it is off the course please comment. I need it as soon as possible.

My dissertation asserts that using the cementatious materials like Metakaolin and Silica Fume increase the durability as well as have impact on the hardened properties of concrete, but with certain percentages in Self Compacting Concrete. I am keen in finding those perfect mix proportions which not only provide us the best concrete but a sustainable one. Now looking into the future I cannot see anything particular about the Construction industry as we are running short on the raw materials which we started to exploit decades ago for our personal and industrial use. Turning materials into something beneficial not only the aim of human but to form something new which benefits the society at a larger scale. But now with daily reduction in raw material for the construction industry always intrigue me to think more deeply to look for the key aspects to keep this world running.

After my dissertation in Post Graduate on the examining the durability properties of Self Compacting Concrete, forced me to study more about the microstructural behavior of concrete. But again, it's the concrete made with fresh aggregates. Concrete has attained the status of one of the most versatile construction material used all over the world these days. Construction materials are increasingly judged by their ecological characteristics. Each one of these concrete primary constituents, to a different extent, has an environmental impact and gives rise to different sustainability issues. These waste materials need a large place to dump and hence the disposal of wastes has become a severe social and environmental problem. On the other hand, scarcity of natural resources like river sand is another major problem which results in increasing the depth of river bed resulting in drafts and also changes in climatic conditions. Hence, it becomes necessary to protect and preserve the natural resources. The possibility of recycling demolition wastes in the construction industry is thus of increasing importance.

As per my plan for the doctorate I intended to work on the long term properties of the hardened concrete made with Recycled Aggregate Concrete including the fatigue behavior. Current procedures give us the empirical formulas to assess the overall fatigue behavior of concrete. But there is no method to check the performance of Recycled Aggregate Concrete apart from those empirical formulas. I would like to develop some mathematical model to assess their performance in fresh as well as the hardened state, which will help us to formulate the stress-strain relationship in the RAC. Moreover we can develop a procedure to check the amount of recycled aggregate with fresh aggregate using some standard workability test if we are successful in forming the Concrete with recycled and fresh aggregates. Moreover these standard workability tests can be modified just to assess the RAC based on the density of concrete.

I intend to work this out with in the due course of 3 years, whose breakup of possible time allotment can be formulated over the time in discussion with the supervisor. And I am fully determined to reach my unchangeable goal by my best effort and courage.
