Scholarship / Life time goals and how are my actions now contributing to this goal [3]

Everyone has goals and dreams they want to achieve and for me I am striving to
achieve my goal of pursuing a job that makes me happy, attaining a good
education at Texas State and making my parents proud.

Every goal in life is determined by the actions we do now. I wouldn't be able
to make my parents proud if I wasn't determined to continue my education. Being
the first to graduate from high school brings happiness and joy to my family. I
know all those consistent hours of studying and staying up late will be worth
it. After graduating high school my goal is to attend Texas State University
and become a teacher. I am currently involved in a extra curricular program
called, Teachers in Training were I am getting experience of what it's like to
be a teacher. Becoming a teachers involves helping others and my community
service help contributes to this. Being in National Honor Society it's a
requirement to get at least 60 hours of community service so I'm constantly
involved in my community. Yes, 60 hours for one organization sounds like a lot,
but helping the community makes me genuinely happy. Helping others describes
the person I am and is required for teachers wanting there students to be
successful. There is no way someone can be successful if they aren't happy with
what they are doing. I truly believe teaching is where my heart is at. My
short-term goals in life is to continue my education which leads up to my
long-term goals which are to get married and raise my own family. There are
many goals I would like to achieve, but they can only come into reality if I
put in the effort.

My goals are interrelated because it's my ambition for my success. My
short-term goals in life are to continue my education which leads up to my
long-term goals, to love my job and be happy with my family. For me, Teaching
is one of the best jobs; it's something I would enjoy doing and attending Texas
State University would make one of my golds accomplished.

Undergraduate / UT Essay Topic C: Coloring in my Character [6]

This is a well written essay about your passion for art, but you need to explain how art is related to your lifetime goals and what activities are contributing to achieve this goal. The structure of your essay is great just a bit off topic. Don't get so involved with your essay that you forget about your prompt!

Best of luck!

Scholarship / Everyone has faced some sort of obstacle in his life. Texas State essay topic B [3]

I will accept all the help I can get! Please and thank you!
Topic: Describe a circumstance, obstacle or conflict in your life, and the skills and resources you used to resolve it. Did it change you if so, how?

I believe everyone has faced some sort of obstacle in life regardless of how young you are. Lucky I have been very fortunate to not have faced major hurdles in life (death in a family, hospitalization, parents divorced etc.) at a young age, but no matter how big or small the obstacle is an obstacle is an obstacle.

Starting high school, like many other students try finding were they fit in whether it's being involved in school clubs, band and/or sports I ended being involved in a sport I never thought I would enjoy, Cross Country. I always thought to myself who enjoys running miles after miles just for fun? Apparently I do and I never thought I would be so good at it to make varsity my first year. I truly love the sport, I love that adrenaline feeling waiting at the starting line, I love running in the muddiest courses, I love how mentally strong you get and I love how I can rely on running as my stress reliever. My sophomore year as the biggest and the most important meet came closer and closer, district, I ended up hurting my hip flexor causing tremendous pain and being unable to run the rest of the season. This injury affected me drastically and affected me in many different ways. I was miserable watching the rest of the team prepare for district, I wasn't as confident as I was; I was mentally weak and felt invisible to the team. While I was waiting to recover I told myself next year is going to be my year and I challenged myself in order to be the best! Many times I felt that I had pushed myself to my limit and couldn't continue, but I would always keep my goal in mind and I practice as if I was running a meet and as if starving lions were chasing me. I spend my entire summer running and preparing for the season and when the season finally came I conquered. That year I finished my season without any injuries and better yet not only did I make it to district but I made it passed district becoming a regional qualifier.

Obstacle can equate to motivation once they are conquered, but when facing obstacle it can be easy to quit but in order to succeed president, commitment and dedication are essentials. I have learned that there are no limits to what a human being can do if he or she set there mind to do there best! As a strive to do my best academically I will always recall on this obstacle and remember to never give up and always work hard for what I want!
