Examinations have always been one of the most familiar methods of measuring learning in educational settings throughout the world. At virtually every stage of studying process, students need to take exams to verify whether they are qualified to move on to the next level. In my view, I believed that there are some points of traditional examinations should be reconsidered.

There are clearly certain advantages of exams. They guarantee the equality by enforcing the same condition on all the candidates. Moreover, they have the comparatively abundant types of exam questions, for instance, multiple choice questions or essay tasks can test different sorts of capability. However, examinations still have drawbacks. With the growth in cram school, students tend to be test-wise rather than to truly learn. Although this kind of student does not have the fundamental knowledge or skills, they still acquire the good result. In contrast, some test-takers perform poorly simply because of nervousness. Furthermore, some teachers and students only focus on those aspects of the curriculum that are liable to be tested, or those repetitive ones, thus excluding the unnecessary parts.

A number of measures should be carried out to tackle the defects. Wherever possible, exams should properly reflect the educational program. Exam tasks should be comprehensively varied in term of theory in order to completely assess throughout various of knowledge and skills. Moreover, other types of evaluation should also be considered, for example, independent studying, research skills or teamwork ability.

In spite of its shortcomings, exams still play an important role in assuring the appropriate, objective assessment. Nevertheless, to gain more advantages, it should be carefully designed and supplement with other types of assessment.

Convenience foods vs traditional foods

There has been a considerable increase of total expenditure of convenience foods in many developed countries. Hence, some people have projected that if there is no restriction or regulation, it will be widespread and thus the disappearance of traditional foods. However, in my view, I would argue that this circumstance will not correct itself over time.

There are clearly certain advantages to convenience foods which make it become an attractive option. It is true that this kind of food needs less preparation than the conventional ones, therefore saves a lot of time. With advances in food technology, it has been upgraded significantly in terms of variety, quality and a large range of expenses which completely satisfies the vast consumer market. It could also be disputed that this food sector gains desirably tremendous profits.

Nevertheless, traditional foods and traditional methods of food preparation have become an unreplaceable aspect of culture and life. In important occasions such as weddings, Thanksgiving or Christmas, a traditionally prepared meal has always been an integral part over time. In many countries, especially in the Asia, being able to cook the meals has virtually become the norm choosing a partner of men. It is also true that many traditional families prefer to prepare foods rather than buy the processed ones because the natural ingredients are considered to be more fresh and cheaper.

Because of its utility, the convenience foods are predicted to become more far-reaching in the future. Nonetheless, it is unlikely to happen that one day people will stop enjoying home-cooked meals at least some of the time.

Job rising inequality among people different gender

There have always been generally distinct traits between females and males, thus the differences in the types of career. Nevertheless, the practice in modern times has been for both men and women to gain a more flexible choice in seeking works. Some would argue that this situation will not correct itself over time. However, in my view, wherever possible, gender equality should be encouraged.

There may be strong arguments for maintaining works which remain predominantly male or female. For instance, massage customers would probably appreciate having female staffs to cater them. It could also be argued that certain careers expecting a norm of physical strength, gold mining or fireman, for example, should resume being carried mainly by men.

Nonetheless, the society has changed slightly perspectives towards the posts holding by men and women and choosing occupations are more open to both genders, hence the unexpected advantages. Male might comparatively have a better taste and skills in cooking, thus they often hold necessarily pivotal posts in restaurants. On the other hand, a female politician would probably have a better understanding and sympathy for women and their obstacles.

The changes stem from allowing men into female-dominated jobs and vice versa may have some disadvantages like gender inequality in the workplace, it is still hopeful. However, to gain the most from this improvement, it is relevant not to expect men and women approach works in analogous ways.
