Chevening is looking for individuals who have a clear post-study career plan. Please outline your immediate plans upon returning home and your longer term career goals. You may wish to consider how these relate to what the UK government is doing in your country.

my short, medium, and a long-term plan

By completing master degree in UK, I will gain more knowledge, skills, experiences, and network. I will have the chance to study the process of policy making of developed countries, and outcomes and problems when implementing policy. Therefore, my short term plan after completing graduate study, I will pursue a career that allows me to work with policy making so as to make a positive impact in Indonesia. I want to implement my knowledge by becoming policy advisor in the field of science and technology for my government by joining think thank group or Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Providing strong policy recommendation to support development of Indonesian technology because I realized that development need more than just a plan but a well prepared strategy. In creating astonishing innovation, a perfectly stable environment is needed and yet those environment could only be established by generating strong policy and strategy. I want Indonesia could learn from developed country such as UK and US in term of technological development and management. I realized that maintaining relationship between UK and Indonesia are very important in promoting cooperation for science and technology since both country have the same vision and already agreed to increase cooperation in technology and innovation.

And my medium term plan is with stronger analytical thinking I achieved, Enhanced by various solid courses from the scholarship, I would like to write and publish academic journal in the field of science and technology studies. And by completing graduate study will also give me opportunity to teach in various university, sharing my experience, knowledge and skills with young citizens of my country and contribute in educating public mindset about the importance of science and technology. Lecturing to improve the understanding of science and technology urgency for the Indonesia stability and development. I have a strong belief in the power of technology for economic development. I believe with technology the people's life can be better.

From a long-term plan, I want to make Indonesia one step forward in the field of science and technology. Coordinating with other Chevening alumni in Indonesia, I want to develop a better access of digital technology for rural region in Indonesia therefore people will get easy access of information, education will be better in order to actualize the economic equity in all regions of Indonesia. I believe that Chevening scholarship will help me to achieve this points of my career plan.

my energy and effort as a leader

I believe being a leader require capability to work well and perform excellent communication with others in order to reach specific goals. And I believe I have played leadership role since I was in high school. Being a chairman in several student organization had given me opportunity to involve with many teams, communicate with many people and organize several events.

During college, I had an assignment to make a group of fifteen students to do community services in rural village. Within a month, we had to implement our knowledge as university students to assist the village's development in various sectors such as education, health, environment, etc. As a team, we were planning to make several solutive projects. One of them was to build a library to increase reading interest and knowledge of the children in the village. As the group leader, with limited budget and time, I managed to delegate tasks to every member of the team, coordinated with local authority to arrange the location and permit to build the library and also coordinate with several bookstores who could assist us in the project. I could not deny that there are some different perspectives among my team member and challenges during the process. But, fortunately I was able to resolve the differences by facilitating all the ideas of the team. And fortunately, with the help of so many parties, our team's effort were paid as the library was established and the local authority have committed to maintain the library.

Since the community service assignment, I became interested in volunteering activities, especially in education sector. Since then, I always join volunteering group such as Inspiration Class Jakarta, 1000 Teachers South Tangerang, ARSA Banten. In Inspiration Class Jakarta, I got the chance to explain to elementary student about my profession as an engineer and what engineering really is. I am so glad that I got to be a part of this movement because I could meet people who cares about others, who want to share the energy for community and furthermore I got the chance to contribute to Indonesia.

Worked in various types of teams during high school, college internship, and professional job in several institutions have taught me that communication and teamwork are very important to achieve goals. Having work experiences in ministry, private, national and international corporation, I have learned both how to lead and follow. I have also been appointed as team leader in my job. In this position, more or less, I have been required to provide advice, feedback, and a good example for the team.

These experiences have taught me so many valuable lessons. Not only about leadership, but also about sharing ideas and energy, engaging with people, and facing challenges together. I'm glad that my energy and effort meet someone else need. I want to spend my time and attention solving my favorite problems. And I believe Chevening scholarship would give me a great opportunity to grow more as an individual and also as a leader in the future.

Chevening is looking for individuals with strong networking skills, who will engage with the Chevening community and influence and lead others in their chosen profession. Explain how you meet this requirement, using clear examples of your networking skills, and outline how you hope to use these skills in the future.

Participating in many activities

I always understand that building network takes time and patience. Therefore, since college, I never afraid to take part in any positive activities. I have been joining several student and youth organizations, attending Annual National Conference of International Relations Students, attending Conference on Indonesian Foreign Policy and other positive. During college, as the chief of international relations students organization, I helped out my Alumni to established the union of international relations alumni at my university in order to easily engaging with other Alumni of IR Student. But I realize establishing this platform is not enough, I was initiating a meeting between active student and the alumni. Fortunately, with effective communication with the alumni, there were so many alumni coming to the event and share their experiences and knowledge to other student. And this event is becoming yearly event as the new student meet the alumni.

After graduating from college, I never stop building my network. I keep taking a part in positive activities such as volunteering, technological competition, conferences, and etc. I join several volunteering group that allows me to contribute to society by interacting and sharing knowledge with children. I believe that helping and caring others is the most efficient way to deep networking. But more than that, I just want my energy and effort meet someone else need. By surrounding myself with people who have the same passion and energy, I continue to grow as a person. I keep maintain a strong relationship with other volunteers by using traditional communication or even using social media like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and etc.

I had also been participating in several digital competition like hackathon. It's a place where people who believe technology can make our lives better gather and share idea to each other. I was always exciting to work with people who work hard for Indonesia development. These experiences have given me opportunity to meet a lot of people from different background and also broaden my network. These network, I believe, will later be critical to my personal growth and career development.

I believe I have built and maintained a strong network and I also believe with the Chevening Scholarship, it would help me expand my network not only with Chevening community but also with global community. And after graduating from Chevening Scholarship, I will join and cooperate with the Chevening alumni in Indonesia. Coordinating with other Chevening Alumni, I will participate or even organize workshops, seminars, meetings and trainings or any other cheveners event in Indonesia. I want to share my knowledge and experience about Chevening Scholarship and what it's like to live and study in the UK to my fellows Indonesian who want to know about Chevening community.
