Undergraduate / Typical Day After School ( Georgia Tech) [3]

Describe your typical day

I am 27 words over the 300 words

Dragging my overworked self to my car after finishing a prolonged day of school, I grab my car keys from my side pocket of my backpack. I twirl them around my finger while dreading about my upcoming SAT practice tests, couple of AP essays and exams, and my college essays. I drive home pondering and organizing all my thoughts into an ideal schedule that I try to abide by. By the time I get home, I'm on the verge of collapsing from exhaustion. Like a paperclip exposed to a powerful magnet, I feel a strong urge to crash into bed and take what I think is a power nap, but in reality it's me snoozing for roughly two to three hours. I have been known to be an avid sleeper and my sleeping habits have notoriously followed me all throughout high school.

I was aware of myself wasting my precious time on fruitless slumber, when I could've been working and catching up on my AP schedule. So, to try to get away from my obsession of lethargy, I offer myself a distraction- a hobby of playing piano. After school, I am excited to go home and attempt some of my favorite songs that I have been yearning to play all day. On my bench in front of the piano, I spend over an hour everyday practicing alone, honing my skills learning songs that I adore and wholesomely enjoy. From an hour of designated practice of a hobby that I fully embrace, I start my afternoon with a mindset of being proactive. Like replenishing a life in a game, I start my afternoon full of zeal and vitality.

I head upstairs feeling pumped and ready to do some work. I'm always determined to accomplish more than what I've finished at school. From finishing a couple of SAT sections to writing an essay for AP World, I end my day feeling triumphant over my day.

Undergraduate / Fashion Institute of Technology essay - advertising and marketing communications [3]

Very long essay, indeed. To cut some words, I suggest cutting the first paragraph. I believe the second paragraph delivers the essay about your personal life while explaining your passion for your desired major in a brisk manner. I suggest cutting the last paragraph, as well. No need to ask them for their approval. The second to last paragraph is fine as a conclusion.

Undergraduate / My phobia for wasting— yale supplement (250) [3]

You addressed the issue and why it is significant to you. However, why would you choose Yale over all other colleges? What makes Yale a perfect or fitting college for you and the issue you addressed. Try adding some specific programs from Yale that can help you during your college years at Yale.

I have accidentally used over 250 words..

I perceive architecture as an art that leaves a permanent mark in history. A mark that is not of buildings, but what is created by an idiosyncratic individual that shows timelessness and practicality. Sadly, many do not see the impact architecture has had in history, as I was one of many. However, from discovering architecture in elementary school to the present, I have become fond of it and would like to construct my mark that would convey architecture to modern society.

As a resident of Georgia, I have definitely heard and researched about Georgia Tech. As one of the highest rated schools for architecture, I am allured by its vision of offering the highest education a school can offer. By offering exceptional programs, like its study abroad programs in Europe and Asia, I can become inspired by different cultures and history that I have never seen from my naked eye or by hands-on experience. I am very eager that I can study how as changes occur in society, architecture seems to reveal its commonplace in many cultures. Georgia Tech School of Architecture and its study abroad programs are a crucial key in further developing my desire to create a better world, and to have this opportunity to design and create what can reflect on modern society is what I indubitably want to pursue in my life.

I know it will be tough after graduation with overwhelming pressure upon my back, however, I will not hesitate to take on difficult projects throughout my college years. For I know that through constant practice and studying at one of the top architecture colleges, I can have viable and innovative solutions. I have heard how challenging Georgia Tech will be from its first year all the way to its graduate school, however, as diamond forms under constant pressure, I will become an architect that will leave a mark inspiring the current and future generations.
