Writing Feedback / PROBLEMS AND PRACTICABILITY OF LIVING WHERE PEOPLE SPEAK FOREIGN LANGUAGES [NEW]

LANGUAGE BARRIERS ABROAD

Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems

Humans have been far developing to such an extent that great concerns have been placed on language barriers raised by living in a foreign nation. From my perspective, I agree that this exerts both positive and negative influences on our societies, which will be thoroughly discussed in the following essay.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that living with foreigners can cause an enormous number of problems. Firstly, individuals may have difficulties in making friends in their current neighboUrhood. As it is our nature to get close to those from the same areas, foreigners might find it hard to join them. As a result, newcomers may suffer from isolation; therefore, severe mental illnesses. Additionally, communities might face social chaos resulting from the innative. Once entering the country, these people may encounter misunderstandings due to cultural gaps. This can even lead to authoritative troubles, profoundly threatening international residents.

On the other hand, living where supports foreign accents are used undoubtedly does enormous wonders to us. Obviously, people might stand a better chance of developments in their working fields. They can gain better knowledge about the nation, which is required in a seriously globalised world. Consequently, more opportunities for improvement, especially in their career perspectives, will be created for them. Furthermore, international residents might have their soft skills greatly enhanced. In accordance with a recent survey, the bilinguals are recorded to outperform the monolinguals with the same backgrounds in problem-solving and cognitive thinking.

In conclusion, advantageous living overseas might be, its downsides towards societies should never be overlooked. Thus, it is imperative that people be fully aware of these influences in order to gain holistic benefits.

Writing Feedback / The number of people who usually travel by underground station in London from 6.00 to 22.00 per day [4]

The line chart illustrates the number of underground travellers in London ...
Overall, the peak time with the largest passengers is 8.00, 2 hours after the least figure for train commuters of the day is recorded. Moreover, the daily data of travelers undegoesconsiderable fluctuations during the whole day.

To be specific, 4 hours from the opening of the station at 6.00, there is a fluctuation from 100 to 180 people, with the number peaking at 400 people at 8.00. Similarly, the figures for passengers experiences a gradual growth of 120 until mid-noon.

However, there is a dramatic decline from 14.00 to 16.00 by around 200 people. This figure then overcomes a 380-people climb until 20.00, 4 hours before a significant fluctuation from 380 to 140 people is witnessed.

These are some of my recommendations for your essays. It has good structures, you also did great in task response but pay attention to extending your lexical resources, and some inappropriate words (By contrast, However, which are used under wrong circumstances). Hope you find my feedback helpful and constructive.

Writing Feedback / Ads lead people to make unnecessary purchases or they just introduce new products to customers [3]

IELTS WRITING TASK 2

Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need

Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives.

The world has been far developing to such an extent that the role of "advertising" is supposed to change. Some people hold firm to their belief that ads lead people to make unnecessary purchases; whilst, opponents argue that they introduce new products to customers. From my perspective, although the first idea is true to some extent, the second seems much more reasonable.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that customers' driving force to buy unneeded items is a result of advertising. Firstly, the demand for a more convenient life has recently increased. Once brands have already recognised this, they will introduce new products qualified enough to meet buyers' basic needs. Hence, people will build a habit of purchasing a larger number of goods. Additionally, it is wise marketing strategies that also encourage people to buy more than what they want. Acknowledging their customers' tendencies, brands will apply a lot of approaches to direct their customers. For instance, Shopee becomes well-known among online purchasers for its celebrity endorsement and flash sale campaigns.

On the other hand, that advertisements are of great benefits to people's lives is without question. Obviously, customers cannot only be well-provided with more information about products but may also raise their awareness about social issues sometimes included in brands' advertising campaigns. Take Pepsi's 2016 video, which contains both their drinks and current political problems in the USA, as a prime example. Furthermore, the more frequently ads are shown to the public, the better varieties of products are available to customers. As a result, they will have more choices of goods; therefore, making better decisions of what to buy, which will gradually improve their living standards.

In conclusion, despite unnecessary purchases encouraged by advertisements, they undoubtedly do great wonders to us. Hence, it is imperative that we become discerning customers in order to gain best benefits from advertising instead of being manipulated.

Writing Feedback / Task 1: The table compares the number of travellers to five different countries and their spendings [2]

the number of tourists and their spendings

Overall, there were big gaps in two mentioned categories. Tourists' expenditure in 5 countries increased after 1 year, which is no not the case in the number of tourists at the same time.

It can be easily witnessed that Italy had the lowest number of tourists in both 2 years, less than 50 million, nearly a half of France's one. The USA came second in this category with nearly 70 millions tourists. Spain and China shared the same figure, at 57 million travellers in 2012. During 2 examined years, only China's number was recorded to fall, contrast to 4 other countries, whose increases were less than 3 million.

Turning to tourists' spending, it was the USA that took the highest, at more than $100 million, nearly three times compared to Italy, whose number was around $40 million in 2 years. French and Spanish tourists' expenditures were quite similar, at around $55 million dollars. China came the least in this list, with $50 million dollars from tourists. All of these countries experienced a rise in traveller's spending, the highest of which is nearly $13 million from the USA.
