Undergraduate / "To make others happy", have to shorten by 400 letters/characters. pennstate p.s [15]

Please tell us something about yourself, your experiences, or activities that you believe would reflect positively on your ability to succeed at Penn State. Im sending this essay along with a letter from the director of the camp explaining what i do and my dedication to the camp

I need to cut by 130 characters

Over the summer, I volunteered at Camp R.O.B.I.N., a facility for developmentally challenged children. I first time I went in, I saw little kids just running around ecstatically with an old friend of mine, who was a volunteer there. I decided to volunteer with him. After I met my first group, I befriended a camper who had just seen the movie "Transformers". He was convinced that he was a robot, so I decided to play along. Soon, other kids approached me asking if I was his father. Laughing, I told them that I wasn't, and they responded by hitting me and screaming "Tag, you're it!" Instantly, I chased them, trying to tag a bunch of little kids laughing their heads off. From that point on, my priorities were reversed. Instead of doing things for myself, I did things for others. I go to there every summer now, to help them in various projects, ranging from arts and crafts, to cooking, to talent shows. The joy that helping others provides me will greatly benefit my peers at Penn State. I strive to help others, because that's all that really matters in the end.

Undergraduate / elaborate on one of your activites in 150 words or less (football) [6]

Being from a conservative family that doesn't follow sports, football was a completely new concept for me to grasp. Football has become a type of sanctuary to me because every morning on the school bus, all I heard about were the amazing plays that occurred the day before. They always argued about whose team was better, and I thought it was funny that people could pick a team that they have nothing to do with, and defend that teams credibility with their lives. Hearing all of this enthusiasm consistently, I thought I would try it out. Eventually I became a huge football fanatic and I both play football and follow the Philadelphia Eagles. I realized that football is a very eclectic sport that enables anyone to show what they can do, for instance, since I don't have hulk-like strength, I use my speed to play wide receiver with my friends.

i ran out of room, but i was wondering if this is good the way it is or should i take out the beginning of how i got into it and instead, write about the activity more

Being from a conservative family that isn't much for sports, football was a completely new concept for me to grasp. After enrolling in an all boy's high school without a football program, football has become my sanctuary. Every morning on the school bus, all I heard about was the amazing plays that had occurred the day before. There was always a fight about which team was better and I thought to myself how funny it was that people pick a team that they had nothing to do with, and just get so offended if somebody says something negative about their team. Hearing all this consistently, I thought I would try it out. Eventually I became a huge football fanatic. I realized that football is a very eclectic sport that enables anyone to show what they can do, and so I play daily with my friends.

Undergraduate / "Benny? Benny?! Where are you?" (Rutgers essay appl.) [18]

so do you think that he should flat out write that he is self less after giving examples. for instance " i believe i am an extraordinarily selfless individual that could bring a new selfless perspective to rutgers because of the experiences i have encountered at an early age" ?
